One thing is for sure... it's not the lack of money that brings him back to F1. I'd say it's a mix of passion and boredom. A good mix that is...

Welcome back!
With "close to volkswagen" you mean roughly half the sales worldwide and less than half the revenue? See numbers for 2008:

VW: http://tinyurl.com/ydjko2j
PSA: http://www.psa-peugeot-citroen.com/en/psa_group/financial_resources_b1.php

@Chris: had no single issue with the 5 series so far, absolutely zero.
Yes, agreed. Very worthy coty. Don't know about these harsh comments by the editor here at autoblog, but overall the MK VI Golf is _much_ improved compared to the MK V, so is the GTI (interior layout and quality, ride, nice new options, etc.).

Currently I drive a 2007 BMW 5-series but I'm seriously considering the new MK VI GTI as my next car - because it's so good (I've driven one for half an hour). The BMW is the better car - no doubt - but the GTI is more fun overall.
As much as I want to love the design, the 3G internals, etc. The limitations (1GB, Starter, no SSD) combined with the price make this machine the netbook joke of the century.

Anyone buying it should be beaten.
Noooooooooo! I _always_ enjoyed Fifth Gear a lot more than Top Gear. I watchted Jason Plato's GTI MKV review and the 911 Turbo one like a dozen times on youtube. Tom Ford's TT review was absolutely brilliant, loved it.

Good team, very high knowledge, I'm not always in the mood to watch Mr. Sarcasm and his (sometimes) very strange type of humor on Top Gear...

Keep Fifth Gear alive!
It seems no one is buying these super-expensive über-supercars.

German site mobile.de (biggest german car sale website) currently lists 10 reventons for sale (7 in germany, 2 in italy, one in switzerland) - these offers look credible, most of them with photos from dealer's rooms.

So 10 out of 20 reventons ever built are for sale atm on a single online platform.

Doesn't look to me as if this stuff sells like hot cakes...

C-Class and E-Class available in europe with that four-banger for some months now, C-Class does 0-62 in 6.9 seconds with automatic transmission and easily gets 40MPG highway according to the auto press.

In most parts of europe diesel is cheaper than gas, so this specific engine is a no-brainer. I'd say in germany they have > 80% diesel C- and E-classes these days.
Remember though that this specific four-banger is praised in europe as the best engine mercedes has built in years...

The current e-class (3800+ pounds, that's roughly 400 pounds less than the current S350 CDI - with a heavier engine) does 0-62 in 7.2 seconds with the automatic transmission and a topspeed of 150mp/h with that machine.

So? An S-Class that does 0-62 in ... say 8 seconds, does 145mp/h topspeed and gets 35MPG (resulting in less time consuming stops at the pump - a reason for me personally). What's so bad about that?
If this *really* turns out as true - VW buying Porsche after Porsche tried to buy VW... family drama, rich & beautiful (well some of them)... throw in some love-to-be-white-knight-sheiks with some billion bucks in their pockets, the - as far as I know - best or second best payed CEO worldwide (Wiedeking, with > 150.000.000 US$ annual compensation) who lost in the end... dallas & dynasty live...

MAKE A TV SERIES OUT OF IT :-)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
