Right everyone off to TechCrunch I want to see this unfolds since they are "Just a blog" .. Arlington has just to be coughing up a kidney about now ;)
$499 - errr no , consider yourself screwed by your own hype.

These guys have no brand background to work with, and Arlington has done a good enough number on them to make them look dodgy enough that you have no idea if they'll be around in 6 months time to honour the warranty.

I'll keep my money in my pocket once again, and at this price point they really needed the CrunchPad / TechCrunch branding and PR machine.
@substance90 Supposedly you can use (with adapters) Canon, Nikon or Red glass..
@Phranky Sure you've got the RED One, check that.. And then what?

My beef is that any company can tease with what we want to do but until there's a unit available in the hands of the user the stop hyping it.. A great example of this was the CrunchPad that officially died yesterday.

I wouldn't mind so much but with the Scarlet if it's real im in, but so far it's what at least a year late and no one has seen one, so for sale in summer 10 i'll still edge my bets on the red tagline of " Specs and time will change, you bet on it".
I think i'm becoming somewhat of a RED hater and will continue to expect this stuff to be vapourware until i see something more than a render. How about some footage, some photos or just some youtube video from someones bloody phone to prove all this really exists.

Spec bumps, delays, price bumps, delays, release a render, delays, release a pr announcement but still no physical product.

I so beg to differ on this. My last Macbook Pro went wrong 5 times before they swapped it for the new model which then arrived with one of the faulty hard discs..
I've used RKPro since it first came out and it used to be a love hate relationship however these days it's more love as the software and website has improved.

The app has improved massively, become more stable and while i no longer run i do cycle and use it to track my rides. With the ability to keep tracking with the screen off it tracked 3 hours or just under 40 miles of riding no problem.

(Tracked route : http://bit.ly/4aSPwx )

I tend it use it with a bike clip so i can see the screen but on wet days i use the Belkin arm band and it all works just fine.

I would of course like to see the guys embrace some of the new bluetooth ability but RKPro does what it says on the tin and very well.
I don't know why we expected Orange to rock the boat on pricing.. The iPhone is the bloody golden goose for networks right now and they'll get the same subsidy as O2 so the deals were always going to be almost identical. In this climate no one is looking to take on a lost leader.

My gripes with O2 are going to be the same with Orange, the network in London is patchy and 3g drops out all the time, the Cloud "free" browsing is almost useless ... I do want to move networks but i think i'll see what Vodafone are going to do since O2 are rumoured to be unlocking handsets at the end of contracts.
95% of all apps processed in 14 days...

hmmmm seems our French Renovation Dictionary app has fallen into the 5% that aren't.. Then again if their combing it for inappropriate words they'll be there a while ...
I present to you 30 seconds work with a tripod head grip, super high tech attachment. Cost me nothing as i has it all in the house but to buy a tripod head with an iphone holder $20 total max.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for the best geotagging camera currently available. The most important feature for me is the accuracy of the GPS module, so any hard specs on satellite receiver would be really useful. Thanks for your time!"
