Thank you Auntie TUAW!!

You've been on the ball lately. Keep up the good work!!

This app is teh secks.
Dude, where have you been? TUAW and Erica Sadun were among some of the pioneers of the Jailbreak and hack process. Sure, they've gotten away from their roots recently, but the hacks they used to come up with were one of the reasons this site became so popular. A few years ago I didn't even know about TUAW until I kept reading about Erica Sadun on Gizmodo and Engadget In reference to iPhone hacking!!
Did you even read the article? Pinch Media provides analytics about the device through the advertisements shown on that and thousands of other apps.. Google Analytics does the same thing, probably right now on this very web page telling TUAW all kinds of details about your computer. All of it is non-personal information!!
First of all, I didn't make any comments about grammar. Those people annoy me too. Second of all, I'd love to write for TUAW, and think I could bring some good knowledge of graphic design, photography, and being a college student Mac user.
Fair enough. I probably read this site too much and remember too much as well.

I do like that these seem to be rounded, as I believe one of the hangups with the old set was the square corners.

I wish they had these for the new icons! I mean, they are missing iTunes, App Store, Voice Memos, and Compass. I'd also like Remote and iDisk! They should also look into making coasters for some of the top App Store apps. Of course they would have to either recreate or license (or so you would think) the high resolution artwork, but it would be great. I also wish there was a way to pay by the icon instead of the sets. I'd probably like to have about 8-9 icons, a mix from each set. More if they had new icons. Who wants address book anyway? Always goes to the back page. Wish I could delete it!
Oh wow TUAW, this is embarrassing! I feel bad, but I can't look away!

I mean, not only is this post old news, but it's old news of a story that you ran over a year ago! Sure this is a different company, but they're both selling old style icons for about the same price.

To TUAW bloggers: at least run a Google search before posting. This is hilarious. I mean, I understand if you wanted to point out a cool gift idea, but presenting it like it was something new is wrong. It would be better off attached to an article roundup of best gifts for an iPhone fanatic. Actually, if you haven't already done so, that sounds like a great idea. Run that story. You could even recycle several stories to make this new story, like the Blur tripod review. Let's not quit rehashing the old stories to make new ones. Let's also not quit posting about news that is a day or two old from MacRumors, AppleInsider, BGR, and 9to5mac. The days when you get a scoop are becoming few and far between.

I honestly used to love TUAW, and really I'm saying this for your own good because I want you to succeed, but you are becoming less relevant by the day when it comes to staying on top of all things Apple. Management needs to kick some butt around there!

Loves and kisses,
macduke
Just like I posted on BGR, 9to5mac and Macrumors:

I noticed this immediately because I've used this as an iPhone wallpaper before. Open the above link in a web browser. It's the background of the ad. Fake! No way in hell Apple uses a fanboy's desktop wallpaper and uses it in a real ad. Plus the ad is fugly and hard to read. Built in Photoshop snowflake shape with ugly dropshadow? What the hell is with that ribbon? Honestly people, this is garbage.
These are the articles that we want Erica! You got the scoop, were thorough in your reporting, and wrote so eloquently. It was so much better than other articles you've submitted lately, and reminds me of the good ol' jailbreaking hayday articles. Good work and please keep up this level of quality! I'd rather see a couple well written articles from you over the course of a week than a bunch of quantity.
1.) I have an advantage over 90% of the population when it comes to productivity:

Expose, spaces, gestures, dashboard, quick view, automator, rarely crashes, no viruses. I've used PC's since Win 3.1, and would spend ridiculous amounts of time trying to keep them running, let alone running at optimal performance. My first PC was a hand me down from my grandpa...a 386 I think with a couple megabytes of ram on Win 3.1 Then I had a Pentium 75mhz with 32mb ram 1.2gb hd on Win 95, Pentium II 233mhz 64mb ram 8gb hd on Win 98 SE, Pentium 4 1.9ghz 512mb ram 40gb hd on XP (home built), then a 3.4ghz Pentium 4 2gb ram 200gb hd on XP / Vista (home built), then a Pentium M Dell Inspiron 9300 2gb ram 80gb hd, then a 2.4ghz Macbook Pro 4gb ram 500gb hd. I switched to Macs a few years ago and I've spent 30 minutes since then upgrading to Snow Leopard and trying to fix the extra button configurations for my Logitech Mouse. That's a lot less of a hassle than the 65% of people who still use XP and are trying to upgrade to Windows 7. They have to delete everything and start over! I have saved so much time, especially since I don't have to run a ton of processes in the background just to make sure my computer isn't being attacked or infected. I just don't even have to think about it ever. Not even once. Not even one time have I ever had to worry about anything. I can't emphasize this point enough. I've used tons of PCs and this is different and so much better. My wife still has a Dell Inspiron 9400 Core Duo and it drives us crazy. She is always stealing my mac when I'm not looking. My grandpa, a lifelong PC since the beginning, and the former head of a multimillion dollar government ballistics research lab finally swiched to Mac last week to edit his photos and videos.

2.) Which means I save time / make more money:

Obvious, as I said, because I save a bunch of time (see above). Time is money and my time is worth $50 / hour.

3.) Not to mention in my field you're considered a clown if you use Windows and nobody will take you seriously:

I'm a graphic designer and photographer. Most creative firms use Macs. That is an undeniable fact. Ask anyone in the creative field. Do you seriously want me to take a photo of the huge mac lab that I'm in right now at my school? There isn't a PC to be found in this department. Google "Microsoft laptop hunters ads made on a Mac."

The last time I used a Win Mo phone was late last year. A girl in my drawing class was trying to copy and paste something into an email and couldn't figure out how so she asked me since most people know me as a tech guy. It was hideous to use. I have no idea how old it was. I really don't keep up much with Windows anymore. I understand that you don't need a stylus, but most people I know with Win Mo still have them.

Unless your statement is poorly worded (likely), how in the hell do you have a Javascript based browser when you need a browser to render JS?

Come on though, you've got to admit that having built in IE6 is as lame as it gets. Especially since most people will just use whatever browser comes with the phone. I also doubt any webkit based browser for WinMo is anywhere near the quality that Mobile Safari is.

Also the only reason I jumped on your ass about citing the wiki article is that you were criticizing a blog about writing a post about a post by another blogger. I mean for real? Saying they aren't citing facts, and then using a wiki article to back it up. You surely see the irony. I don't care if I'm posting facts or not. I was simply making light of your ridiculous train of thought.

Sounds more like someones got a stick up their ass because they don't agree with a blog posting!! Talk about an idiot...what a waste of a life you live, going after an Apple blog for writing a pro Apple story. You can keep your stylus, your 1998, your IE6 (which is what WinMo uses, I bet you didn't know that!) and GTFO.

As for using a wiki article for a source--that's pure FAIL. If you did check the "facts" of the wiki, then why didn't you just post those? Oh that's right, because you never actually did that. That being said, Mac OS X does have around 10% market share and I hope it stays that way. You know why? Because it means that I have an advantage over 90% of the population when it comes to productivity, which means time saved, which means that I make more money. Not to mention in my field you're considered a clown if you use Windows and nobody will take you seriously.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
