Apple will come out with something similar but with less features, a closed OS, and a $1200 price tag.
Paulson and Bush gave this money to them. This is just another mess that Republicans made the Democrats now need to fix.
I have the Nav730 which ALSO includes text-to-speech just like the 740 - they both do. The main differences are the screen and the POI entries. I really like the 730. You can get it at FRY's for $139. Mine worked right out of the box and guided me home from Fry's - text-to-speech and all! It's well worth the money! Look around the web and you'll find a few hacks for it that increase its capabilities too.

On another note, thank god Apple doesn't make a GPS device or we'd all have to hear the lemming Fanbois troll the forums telling us that their piece-of-you-know-what device is better than all the rest. I hope it stays this way.
Funny that iPod fanboys accuse everyone of being an MS shill when they say something positive about the Zune. That's ridiculous. It's the other way around. More likely you are Apple shills! You fanboys are here, AT A ZUNE REVIEW, for the specific purpose of knocking it in favor of a 'closed system' iPod. Like being locked to iTunes? Fools. Jeezes! You're sounding more and more like republicans everyday. All rhetoric, no truth.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
