Is it just me or does anybody else like it more after seeing it in motion? From a stand still I thought it was a bit over stylized. Then I began appreciating the lines more since it is so distinct. How the shoulder line cuts through the front fenders and down past the headlights to the front dam. If anything, it's more of an appreciation for functional form...
don't even start comparing your dull colors with phosphor based displays.
You're comparing a vizio to Panasonic in reliability? No comparison... Panasonic will outlast that vizio and not have any issues within the first year. 1.8% defect rates my friend, as well as no outsourcing makes Panny's the most reliable and well built displays on the market.
I know a lot of people don't care for the california... but I think it looks stunning. Especially in this picture with the rest.
name a car under 100k with...
1. Not one speed record
2. Not one major track record
3. Not one racing series record
4. Not one endurance record
5. On regular basis gets it's ass kicked in grassroots racing.

with a name like vetteracer I can see why you'd be mad. Calm down dude, that doesn't take away that it's a badass car. According to all press, it's wrecking everything that it competes with.
if you want overpriced LCD's with noisy video processing and insane image trailing issues. then yea sony is the way to go ;P 2009 models are horrible compared to what the competition is brewing. Any Panasonic, Samsung, or even Toshiba will smoke a comparable Sony and cost less

dude you serious? No design is that original. This one definitely shares some cues with Lexus and Mercedes. Don't be so naive and let go of your fanboyism. Everyone is always gonna make reference.
4,200 is a lot for that set. There are quiet a few sets that will outperform the 9. In fact... in a private ultimate HDTV comparo between all of the best sets of this year by all the big name manufacturers the xbr9 got last place. =/

Sony doesn't play catch up. Sony is still 1 of 2 companies that offers TRUE LED, XBR8. They are 2nd to release WHITE LED like Samsung but they had to because they would lose a lot of customers to Samsung. I personally can't justify spending twice the money onto TRUE LED from Sony. I think that Sony is #1 on the market when it comes to best TVs but when it comes to value they are a lot of times not even in the top 5.

-when has sony been #1 for best TV's? When it comes to flat panels the best tv's are usually plasmas. Pioneer has been considered the best name for consumer flat panels for years. This year the honor goes to Panasonic
that leather looks incredibly cheap... like a ford focus. imho... but hey, it's an econo car so I shouldn't have expected more
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
