Yeah, you're right, I'm clueless. After all, physical media containing movies is nothing at all like physical media containing music. Two completely different animals - not at all similar. Just because sales of music CDs have been declining rapidly over the last 6 years (a format that was purchased in much higher quantities than movies) why should that indicate an inevitable decline in physical media containing movies? I am sure your grandchildren will be enjoying movies being played off vulnerable, expensive shiny discs.

Yeah, I must be incredibly clueless, nothing at all like the sharp, forward looking intelligence you obviously possess. Now pardon me while I go watch Raiders of the Lost Ark on my betamax while listening to a Peter Frampton 8 Track tape.

Reason #1 TO vote for a Clinton:

Look what a Clinton did to fix the mess the country was in last time a Bush was in Office.
Although Jr. certainly has done far more damage than Papa did - a lot more work to be done for the next pres.

LMAO! Cougars! You are so right about Mary J. Blige listeners! That is EXACTLY what I picture too.
The thing about the Apple ads that I love was that they usually would feature someone you haven't heard of - yet. Someone up & coming, a new sound, cutting edge (with the exception of U2) But even U2's song was new & catchy.
Not someone you've heard too much of, 15 years ago. I've never liked Mary J. Blige's music, but the effects in the latest ads are really cool.
Maybe you should head over to PC mag & see what a bashing they give Leopard when compared to Vista. While you are there, check out the pummeling of a review the Mac Book Pro gets, especially when they tried to run Vista on it.

I use exposé daily, several times a day. Now that I have it, I sincerely do not know what I would do without it. I usually have at least a dozen windows open - that need to be open, and exposé comes in more than handy. Useless eye candy it is not.
Yes, and I am sure that if Apple wanted, they could make a feature free version of Leopard that could run on ancient equipment, but seriously, what is the point? That is what Jaguar, or Tiger is for. Microsoft's point in making it possible for the OS to run on old PCs is that they can say "Hey, look, it runs on anything!" and impress people like you, but if the features are the same as the previous operating system, and it takes your 386 30 minutes to boot up & is still incapable of being a viable, functioning solution to your work / play it is in fact, outside of geek cred - pointless. The whole allure of Vista was the bells & whistles, the eye candy. It's like thinking your getting a Mercedes Benz, and you end up with Chrysler (same company now)
The truth is, you need a pretty up to date system to run Vista full on.
The next version of what ever MS decides to call their OS will be rife with ideas completely lifted from Leopard, yet not implemented as well. This makes MS fans upset, but it is the 100% truth since Windows 3.1. Those of you who consistently want to point to market share of the OSes, look deeper into it. Then, look at the market share trends over the last 5 years, and look at the stock prices of all your favorite computer & software companies and compare it to Apple. You are making comments here that expose you as someone who is blindly, and foolishly defending a company they obviously do not know anything about, and belittling another company which they also know nothing about.
It is like a parade of stubborn ignorance.
You know, computers are portable devices - especially in comparison to what existed a few decades ago. You can have some features with one, and other features with the next. They screw us is what they do! Why, I need four laptops to do all the things I need to do! You should have really held true to your convictions & sat down with a pen & paper and wrote Engadget an actual letter, put a stamp on it, walked to a mailbox and mailed it.

Then we would all know, and truly understand just how passionate you are about this.

BY the way, there is one feature smartphones do NOT have:

Ease of use, and that is what is going to be the winning factor.

Oh, wait a minute, this is a Zune post! Oh well, might as well talk about them now. Another 5 years & they will no longer exist.
Yup, you run a lab, you must be an expert!
I work with people like you. Handed jobs you were not fit to run, obviously. There is a guy where I work in charge of the entire graphics department and he knows less than anyone else about Adobe products, Macs (or even windows for that matter) is terrible at graphics & design, knows almost zero in Illustrator & InDesign and basically sucks all around. But he has friends in all the right places and promoted to these positions by people like him, due to office politics, and nothing to do with skill what so ever.
Anyone who is going to blame the computer for old software clearly is unqualified to have such a position. Unintuitive OS? Really? OK...

So Dick, who do you know at your workplace? I wonder how many qualified people got passed over forr your job because your a brownie hound? You MUST work in a school department.

Besides keeping your home Mac free, I bet you keep it intelligence free too.
Your poor kids...

either that or you are an MS employee, or just a troll.

Oh, and super smart ot admit to piracy on the internet. Yeah, your sharp! We should all heed your superior advice.
stop knocking Microsoft, they are beautiful and perfect, and this world would be a better place if they controlled everything, and Windows was the only OS available. The Zune will rule.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
