Awesome. Regardless of whether or not there's a working prototype yet, if the science is sound it WILL work someday, and grants like these will help to at least get the ball rolling, even if they don't directly fund the batteries of tomorrow.

Agreed. I prematurely deleted my IMAP account but when it refused to download an all text message I canceled.

Is there a way to make it load 25 or 50 emails instead of just a week or month's time?

Maybe not the best, but the most memorable was the post that Peter Rojas made shortly after the death of his father. Poignant and touching, it gave us readers a look into Peter's childhood and his relationship with his father.

Not the funniest, or even most gadget related, but it's the one that sticks out in my mind.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.

"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
