This just in! Something's happening tomorrow! Stay tuned for more details...
Actually Brendan, it's just as likely that introducing Eee's and the like will open up a new market segment. It doesn't have to mean innovators won't be able to innovate. giuliop's got it right.
Now that people have icons next to their names, I'm never sure if jabs are aimed to icons (or past icons) or if I'm just missing the joke. Sigh.
So, andy... in my incomplete understanding, are we trying to argue that there's no such thing as a "patent troll", or are we just getting annoyed that the term is being overused? Because I doubt anyone here would agree that current patent lawsuits are never filed by IP squatters.
So... as a general rule, calling people names for down-ranking you doesn't help the situation. It actually makes you look kind of childish.

But hey, at least you didn't use the word "troll"...
You seriously don't understand the "lappie" reference? Everybody to the limit, for crying out loud...
Sorry, but no. That one still has laugh value. For now.
"Glad to see you like biased journalism with zero integrity."

erm... it's a blog? You want lack of bias, try CNN. I may not exactly enjoy the Apple slant these guys have, but it IS their site. If they want to lean Jobs's's way, well, that's their deal. Somehow I suspect that if all the stop-worshipping-Apple comments haven't done any good thus far, they're really not ever going to. Do these guys even read the comments?
Personally, I'm more bugged by the fifteen minutes it takes to come out of Hibernate than I am about UAC.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
