Public Radio App lets you resume 'This American Life' whenever you please {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 5th 2009 7:57PM Is this that much different from a podcatcher? I get my NPR feeds downloaded over the air as they come out and that's just using a free app on my Pre (drPodder).

Sprint launches Samsung Moment, Android empire expands by one {Engadget}

Nov 2nd 2009 11:59AM This is what I don't get. Sprint phones roam for free on Verizon's towers so I've never really lost signal even in VZW-only areas like some rural markets and in the DC metro. Make sure you have roaming enabled and you should be fine. I've stuck with them due to their having some of the best deals of any US carrier but I would have left long ago if coverage was anythign but adequate. As it is, I've stuck with them from their first Sanyo camera phone to the Pre now.

I'm gonna skip this phone because the Pre is still rocking and they should have an updated Android phone out by the summer with Wimax and better specs a-la the HTC Dragon or Moto Droid.

How would you change Snow Leopard? {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2009 11:57PM Stop dictating what brand of hardware I'm legally allowed to run it on.

Motorola Tao's photographer zooms out a little, better shot ensues {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2009 5:56PM Are you kidding? Not having to use that glorified shopping cart is a plus! Use anything you want with this. Winamp, WMP, Doubletwist, Mediamonkey, etc.

They don't try to dictate what software you can use to copy your media over. Drag and drop for fucks sake.

Anyway, I love the look of this phone. Big capacitive screen. Proper QWERTY keyboard. Linux-based OS.

If it was on Sprint I would have to think hard about holding on to my Pre but on Verizon there is no way. I'm not paying an extra $40 per month for the same plan and dealing with V-cast garbage all over the phone.

How would you change Nokia's N97? {Engadget}

Aug 15th 2009 2:30AM Just no. The Pre is my current phone and I love it but no. This just sounds like every other choad that says everything can be solved by making it an iphone. Nokia's N series has its fans and supporters and I say good on them. They obviously chose it because they preferred it over WM, WebOS, iphone, Android, or whatever.

Video: Google Wave public beta rolling out in September {Engadget}

Jul 23rd 2009 2:43PM They day I got gmail I gave up on AIM. I just keep a tab open to gmail anyway and I can chat with all of my friends who also use gmail. My Pre integrates gchat with SMS so I can seamlessly go between SMS and chat depending on where the recipient is and it shows as one thread on my phone.

So yeah, most everyone I know uses gchat. Nobody uses AIM or MSN because...why bother with another app?

Has your Palm Pre learned to do the twist? {Engadget}

Jul 23rd 2009 1:17PM Same here. Mine's been working great since launch day. Just waiting for flash and a new crop of apps to add some bells and whistles to an already solid platform.

AT&T's subsidized Acer Aspire One, Dell Mini 10 and Lenovo S10 netbooks launching nationwide {Engadget}

Blu-ray celebrates 91 percent sales increase for first half of 2009 {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2009 9:58AM I don't own either but when I bought my HDTV 4th of July weekend I had the option of a larger screen or a smaller screen with a PS3 thrown in. I considered the PS3 because, hey, free game system and bluray player but then I looked down the aisle of games at Best Buy and they were all either uninteresting or I already played them last year on my gaming PC. Yeah LBP looked cool and came with the deal. Rock Band is fun but that means I would have to go buy that kit too...

I dunno. Seems like X360 has a much better library despite maybe not being as capable on paper.

I ended up getting the bigger screen. I already have a bunch of games I cam play in 1080p on the computer I already have.

Windows 7 build 7600 arrives in a torrent of RTM speculation (update: it's not RTM) {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2009 12:43PM I could never understand it either. Aside from a few glitches that were quickly worked out, Vista was always fine on my machines. Once I used it for a week I hated using XP at work. Win7 builds on that and refines it a good deal, improves desktop window manager to run on lower spec hardware, improves driver support, and generally works out of the box in a way XP really didn't and Vista only mostly did.
