Jun 17th 2008 6:34PM Yup, I've been using the AppleScript with the AppleScript menu item (as I have a few AppleScripts, and I appear to be one of the only people who don't care all that much for Quicksilver).
As it's only for the one boot, just hitting restart in Windows boots me back into Mac OS X.

Mar 1st 2008 4:39PM Google Reader also has the little bookmarklet thing to go to the webpages of the articles in the feed. I cmd+1 (first bookmark in my bookmarks bar) in safari through my feeds and I get the original article pop up.
It is a little disorientating at first to jump from bbc to tuaw, engadget and such, but it works a treat. I hardly ever go to the Reader page actually.

Feb 26th 2008 8:32AM Nice.
Looks like this static though, may be better if it checked via JavaScript and update the image automatically?

Feb 26th 2008 8:29AM Basically Growl is a notification utility, which displays messages. In this script it displays a message every 30secs saying not online, until it is (where it will say it is online!).
I've made a non-Growl version which simply beeps (because a dialog window you have to click to get rid of is annoying) when the store isn't online and gives a dialog window when it comes back up. This is at http://danieltull.co.uk/files/scripts/IsAppleStoreOnlineNoGrowl.scpt
If you want to get rid of the beeping every 30secs, just delete the line "beep" in the script. :)

Feb 26th 2008 7:48AM A couple weeks ago, I made an applescript to check to see if the store is online, it can be found here. http://danieltull.co.uk/files/scripts/IsAppleStoreOnline.scpt
By default it checks the American store every 30 second, Growling each time to say whether it is or isn't up. Enjoy. :) Thanks to the TUAW commenter for the command line script that this is wrapped in, I can't remember your name, sorry.
Oh yes, the Apple store is down {Engadget}

The Apple Store is down. On a Tuesday... {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Feb 12th 2008 8:37AM Hey. I've created this in an applescript with calls to Growl to update you of the progress using the bash script above.
It can be found here:
http://www.danieltull.co.uk/files/scripts/IsAppleStoreOnline.scpt
By default it checks the US Apple Store every 30 seconds, but this can be changed by altering the theAppleStoreURL and theDelay variables at the top of the script.
One issue, if you launch it from the scripts menu, I don't know how to stop it until the store comes back online... So I hope it does eventually! Else I'm getting growled at every 30secs.
