That's pretty impressive, considering how fugly both the UI and actual phone itself is.

mainly to geeks and freetards, IMO.
year, motion remote, yadda yadda. What formats does it playback? MKV? subtitle support? Can i plug a USB drive into it?

In other words: is it better than my Popcorn Hour?
Ah ok, mystery solved. I'm in the UK so it won't let me get at the online store. instead it's trying to get me to d/l the windows only client. sneaky...
@telepheedin - LOL. Yeah. I have to get Jobbsy round just to turn the f**ker on....c'mon. Do non-mac users really believe this shit? Like i have no third party apps/hardware on my mac...LOL

@Tirta -really? I only had a very quick look, TBH - but seemed to be suggesting to me I had to d/l the app to get even the drm free stuff? will check it out again...

No mac support = FAIL
dunno how long you've had your HTPC mate, but i've had mine for just over a year. i'm sick of it. its a bloody PC. under my tv - and with all the BS that goes with it. a loud fan. antivirus software. software updates. a looooong windoze start up time. that's why i'm in the market for something like this.

as for blu-ray, i'll wait for the prices to drop and the sub $200/£100 chinese players to hit the market around xmas. far less hassle.
Had my eye on this...does it handle subtitles in MKVs nicely (i'm a big anime fan)?

I've heard it won't decode DTS...is that true?
But does anyone know of a device that will handle HD .mkvs, incluinding subs etc?
so...could i use this to stream HD content from a mac/pc to an HDTV?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
