Looks lovely. With phones like this out there I don't understand why people still buy flash based mp3 players.
If you can't even spell "right" I don't think so...
You mean like the Sigma DP1?
This seems so unnecessary. People can just scroll.

What might be useful is a "all posts since your last visit" feature like many forums provide.

But really if people can't just scroll down or click "older posts" then they must be pretty stupid.
DisplayPort is cheaper so this monitor is $800 dearer?

I don't get it.
You know if I wanted a stripped down light laptop to carry around with me then I'd just save myself $1000 and get an EEE or Mini Note. While it looks pretty I think The Air was a total mistake, but then I don't see much point in Macs; they are just a simple version of Windows that run about 20% of the software and hardware Windows does (plus a few programs Apple wrote themselves). Just get Windows XP or Vista they are both fine now with the service packs and learn to use a decent OS.

If I wanted a good laptop to do some work on then the X300 seems pretty smart. I prefer my X61t though as the added functionality of a tablet makes it far more useful for me, though I wish it had the built in DVD drive like the X300. I need a x300t if such a thing ever comes out.
I wouldn't buy one of these because I'd rather just use my computer with a Sonos or something like that, but I nonetheless don't agree with Flashpoint at all.

Hard disks are hardly obsolete, and I can't imagine this would be all that prone to failure just sitting there. Your mp3 player is in far greater risk of damage (or loss).
This is just a shop that sells Sony products, hardly an official Sony voice. They're just trying to do what every other shop on Tottenham Court Road (major tech shopping road in London) is trying to do and that's sell more products. Indeed, what any shop the world over is trying to do. Most people walking past probably have no idea what BlueRay or HD-DVD is, so this is just a cheap attempt to get some attention.
I've been trying to decide whether to go for one of these for a while, but decided to wait to see what Apple did. I need something with a good capacity (read 80gb upwards), nice screen for watching the odd clip and wifi for the sake of it. I'd hoped to get that with Apple as their support is better, but they've not put touch onto the 'classic', leaving just the iPod Touch with it's limiting 16gb. So it's back to the Archos camp for a decent machine with the features I need. I don't understand why there's so little demand for machines with high capacity - do most people only have a handful of albums?
I couldn't care the least about the new Nano, but look at the pics, Jobs is getting fat. Mind you I don't care about that either.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
