Because you are playing 20 year old games. They were amazing when they were first released, but times have changed in a big way. Those games are all about nostalgia now. If you are a fan now, you want to play those to see how the series started. But if you want to play these games to become a fan, you can't start with the really old ones. But play FF6 if you want an old school Final Fantasy that really still holds up, and if you don't like it, just give up, because it doesn't get any better than FF6.

Jun 27th 2009 1:40AM If screen size is the deciding factor in choosing hand-held consoles, that kind of defeats the purpose. PSP-3000 and PSP-GO both have tiny screens. If you look at them both side by side with the intent of seeing which has the bigger screen, obviously PSP-3000 is bigger, but I guarantee when you hold those screens at 2 feet from your face to play games in it, the experience is EXACTLY the same.

Jun 3rd 2009 2:48AM It affects me because they are spending precious time developing a game that I have no desire to play. In other words, this news is basically that the next FF game is going to be delayed at least an extra 2 years.
They can have as many spinoffs as they want, I don't care, but it bugs me that they are whoring out the main numbered series. It's like if the Superbowl next year, had a soccer game instead of a football game and called it Superbowl 44 and had no football game whatsoever. It would piss a lot of people off. I personally wouldn't care because I don't like football or soccer, but I understand that people would get mad.

Jun 2nd 2009 9:34PM I agree, I hate that the online ones are in the numbered series. Damn, I am a really disappointed, because the setting and characters looked to possibly make a great single player FF, but this is another FF I will not play now, and now I have to wait even longer for the next real FF game.
By the way, the music in that trailer seemed pretty cheap and mediocre. I hope that is not indicative of the music for the game. Although I don't really care, because I will not play FFXIV.
