Saw yesterday a subsidized Sony Vaio P here in Spain, with Movistar...
Keep in mind these are a bunch of HIGH-SCHOOL kids. IES La Bisbal is a high school. These kids are like 16.
Actually, re: my comment above, Newegg never was a B&M store. That one was "Egghead software", many of you will remember it, which went online only in 1998 and then belly-up in 2001. Since Newegg opened in 2001, and because of the name, many people thought it was Egghead reborn, but it actually wasn't. No relation. My bad. Egghead is now owned by Amazon.

Check the Wikipedia entry for "Egghead software"
Newegg USED to be a brick and mortar retailer and they closed down the stores to go online only... Makes no sense to go back to B&M now...
Don't you know the new feature? The "b" is emulated if you tap the touchpad with seven fingers...
This should just have been the 3G nano. The "fatty" nano should have never existed. Go from the 2G to this adding video. That's it.

What happens now is that many people see them weird because they are so different than the "fatty". But so did they when the "fatty" came out. Something like this is clearly what the 3G nano should have been.
The fact that some idiot pays $300 for a pair of headphones does not mean that $80 is cheap. IMHO anything more that $30 for ANY headphones is way too much. Can you appreciate music quality so much on them (especially on the go) so as to spend that kind of money? Or is it a symbol of status? "Look, I'm so frigging rich I can waste $100 on $20 headphones."
I would buy a kindle immediately if it was GSM instead of EVDO. Using EVDO they are ruling out countless of international users who can't use EVDO because t doesn't exist in their countries... I think a GSM/3G/HSDPA version of the kindle would be great.
I know they're old fashioned and kind of out of place here, but I use these analog devices which have infinite battery life and tell stories much better than the DVD. They're called "books" :-D
But why should an App whose name starts (legitimally) with the letter A be always at the top of the list?

What the App Store should do is what they do at the UN General Assembly. Every day (or week or month) draw a random character and start alphabetically with that. Include the Space, $, @ and whatnot. This way all apps can get their turn at the top no matter with which letter they start.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
