Oct 3rd 2007 12:19PM I had a Canon Powershot that was recalled (for a different reason) some years ago. I never sent it in. Why? Because the recall was about the same time of year as this (late Oct. actually) and they stated the turnaround time would be 8-12 weeks.
Why would I want to be without my camera over the holidays? My choices were a)Send in the camera for repair and buy a second to have over the holiday season, or b)Deal with the camera that still took decent pictures except when it didn't (requiring a solid smack).
I went with choice A, but have since replaced the camera with a different brand.
