@michaspi : I've still got a PCI serial card that I bought years ago so I could hook two serial-port Palm handheld cradles to one machine.

And I bought it at Microcenter. I miss Microcenter. Nearest one's now 3 hours away.
This is actually heading in a direction that'd interest me. I'd love a "PDA on steroids." Not as a phone, but as a portable digital notebook, which is what I use my PDA for anyway.

But as a phone? No way. Too big.
Oh, man. Where was this post when I was buying speakers for our roving presenters last month. Dangit. This would've been sweet!
I like the G series. Started with a G2, myself. But, dang, I wish they could improve the optics with better zoom.
Yes, but apparently it's coming to T-Mobile in the States. So you really wouldn't get 3G in most places.
I think the AT&T Pure (Touch Diamond2) is better compared to the original Touch HD.

They use the same processor. They've got the same amount of memory. The Touch HD's display is only 80 pixels wider (in portrait position). The biggest functional differences between the two are that the Pure has access to AT&T's 3G network, and the Touch HD has a standard headphone plug instead of an ExtUSB adapter.

The Touch HD2 is a nice machine. But it may be more phone than I need, which is why the Pure may be my next cell phone.
I don't mind the aesthetic, but I'm typing this on a Thinkpad, myself. I do, however, balk at the HTC use of ExtUSB port for head phones.
That depends on what you're seeking. Some apps of the type I want to use are available for WinMo, but not Android.

(iPhone is out of the question on principle, even though there are iPhone versions of what I want to use. I'm not anti-Apple. I'm anti-lack-of-memory-expansion and anti-battery-replacement-requires-major-disassembly.)
BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! Don't even suggest such a heinous idea. You'll jinx it all for the rest of us.

(Touch HD2 might actually be enough phone to get me to commit 2 years of my life to a contract)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
