Love engadget, big fan of ryan block. Miss the days when I had work access too lots of new gadgets. I would probably keep or share with techie friends all or most.
If that doesn't work, press and hold both the power button on top edge AND the home button on the front bottom simultaneously. The phone will eventually turn off, but keep holding until it has restarted and the apple logo appears.

This is some kind of soft reset, in between powering off/on-again and a restore. Got the tip from an Apple tech support dude months ago for my original iPhone. Have done it several times with the 3G. Hopefully won't need it as often with the 2.0.1 software. (STILL backing up, BTW -- looking forward to the much bally-hooed snappier incrementals.)
A bunch of posts I've read in various blogs say that many apps need to be updated following the installation of 2.0.1.

Try opening the App store 1st to see what updates are available and installing those. Hope that helps. Does it?
@JUDD

LOL... How perceptive of you! It is past my bedtime. But thank you for helping me get the leave her alone reference. I can't believe I missed that. No further posts from me until I have slept. In the morning, my iPhone should have finished its last interminable backup.
Why on earth would iPhone users hate or frown upon touch users? They're nearly the same. I for one envy your device's even slimmer form factor. Clearly we're all in the same usergroup. Hey, remember MUGs? Are there still many around? I'm out of touch (no pun).
@Judd

Re-reading my reply, it may seem like I was accusing you. To be clear, I was agreeing with you in a "Yeah what you said," repetitive kind of way. :)
@Judd

It's astonishing after reading that someone is tired of iPhone articles to realize that they clicked on one, read it (sometimes) and then took their precious time to COMMENT about what a waste of time it all is. What a disconnect!

And if the iPhone isn't a gadget, then I don't know what is. How could Engadget fail to report al news about it? Wasn't it Time Magazine's gadget of the year or some such?

I didn't totally follow your blanketed rant paragraph, but I was moved nonetheless.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
