Modder places USB flash drive in Atari 2600 cart, amuses geeks world o'er {Engadget}

Jul 7th 2009 2:26AM At first, I had goosebumps. It was like what if USB was invented in 1978?. Then it was all such a let-down. This could have been soooo much more cooler. HDD, 2600 emulator with game roms on flash or HDD, and possible USB hub.

Feb 24th 2009 8:06PM Link please. I find it rather implausible that there are 200 million actual copies of Windows Vista in use versus were sold with computers then downgraded to Win XP.

How would you change RIM's BlackBerry Storm? {Engadget}

Feb 14th 2009 2:53PM I've had my Storm since December 26th, 2008 and I love it, click-screen and all. I've never had a touchscreen phone before and this is my first BlackBerry. I've had issues with the phone locking up and/or rebooting spontaneously. I've applied the latest firmware ".99" and the phone hasn't locked or rebooted since I did it, which is going on 6 days.

Here are few things I would change though:
1) Needs WiFi.
2) Replace the media player with a more polished product.
3) An in-call screen locking mechanism needs to be included, although TalkLock solves this probem.
4) Make closing apps simpler. There are too many levels now.
5) There needs to be a better way to manage sound profiles that include a sound profile scheduler. I may not want my sound to be loud all the time, for instance at work I may want to have vibrate mode, but while commuting make it loud. This could also use the GPS.
6) More apps please! There are a few cool apps already, such as Vlingo, Slacker, Google Maps, FaceBook. There needs to be much more. No reason we can't have a lot of the same cool apps iPhone users have been enjoying.

Other than that, I really love the Storm. I'll definitely be getting a Storm 2, if there's one coming out.

Feb 14th 2009 2:18PM I agree with most of your points. However, with regards to the screen being pressed during a call - it has been addresses by an app called TalkLock. Google it.

Feb 14th 2009 2:13PM Yeah, the latest firmware 4.7.99 leaked addresses the lag as well as others.
