Irrigation? My 1980's X-10 based GE HomeMinder setup had a couple of screens for a sprinkler control setup.

Hey! A Yooper! Hello from troll-land.

Matt
displaced Yooper from da Soo, eh.
@htd That's for sure! Let's see....$2000 or $3000+ for 2 years. Pretty nice gift!
Not really a new idea, but nice to see someone supporting home automation. Have had phone control of my home for several years now, but this would add a nice graphical touch. Pre or Android support coming?
AS N900 mentions...How about just using Bluetooth? Had my Palm Pre playing Pandora radio in a rental Ford Focus with SYNC. Controlled the Pre well...and the audio quality was great.

Not the same with my older Pioneer stereo in my car with Bluetooth...difficult to get them talking on that one. Bluetooth has gotten better over the last couple of years.

Have an original by our kitchen PC...weather, clocks, Pandora, virtual bubble-wrap, and other fun stuff. Just handy info always there. Chumby One is on my Christmas wish list...for an alarm clock, or maybe weather and news in the bath in the morning, or....

If you don't "get it," then don't get it! :-) If you do, you'll enjoy it.

PS - you can also put a virtual Chumby on your website...it looks like your Chumby, and shows whatever is on your real one!
Seems like any smartphone could have a application like this, since they all have bluetooth, and there are already bluetooth ODB-II adapters out there.
The Windows 7 option on the HP Mini 311 costs $50 when ordering that netbook. Same price as the Win7 Upgrade if you pre-ordered months ago. So I do not think there is any savings to be had using the driver hack.

Enjoying the HP Mini 311 w/Win7 & ION!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
