It's working for me now, so they must have sorted out their servers.
Drive is okay, but it's $3 a month ($36 a year) and requires a data connection for the maps.

It also does not have Text-to-Speech for street names, real time traffic (optional on MobileNavigator) or several other features.
I have to type in the current zip code, or city name to get any search results.

for the people who it's working for:
1) are you in the US or Canada?
2) was it a clean install or upgrade?

(I'm US and it was an in place upgrade over wifi)
DIdn't Navigon already announce that the next version of MobileNavigator will include google searches in App?
It's the perfect place to put a powered USB hub. I always seem to be running out of ports/power (iPhone + CF reader + UPS + keyboard == not enough power)
@rtdunham
I tried Wi-EX. I even put the antenna outside on the chimney for the best signal and bought a bigger ceiling mount internal antenna. It helped my signal in about a 10ft radius, kinda useless in a reasonable sized house.

I'm hoping the Microcell covers most of the house. If I could just get the darn thing to activate...

For some people it's more like buying a bus pass and the bus does not have a stop close enough to their house...

This is buying a bicycle to ride to and from the bus stop.

Thanks for the heads up!

AT&T did not bother to tell me it's in the SD area either, even though I signed up for notifications. If not for your post I would have kept waiting...
@ArieArie
In my case, I'm in a valley. There are 2 towers with in 1/2 mile of my house, and coverage is still spotty.

I think the Microcell is the perfect solution for people like me and the thousand of others in San Dieigo and locations with similar terrain.
Apple is only doing for the iPhone what all video game consoles have been doing for years (strict SDK guideline, reviews for approval, etc)

I don't know why developers are so "up in arms". I guess they are just used to the "wild west" of PC game development where there are no rules or restrictions.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
