Hey look LS2LS7, this isn't Slashdot, take your well-informed comment elsewhere. (insert winking eye emoticon here)
With something like this, I would save the world a little bit.
This is a video of a rapid prototyper and have been used for years by designers. Whatever you design in CAD it creates layer by layer, obviously.

Good Point, it works for PC laptops running itunes as well. This is the direction I imagined dap's moving. The best thing about itunes is that if the person allows it, you can browse their entire collection and find new music. Now when our DAP's let us do that, then maybe I'll go and talk to the other Zune owner at the other end of the bus.

I am so saving up for when that, "cool-but-admittedly-wildly-unpractical day (of ticker tape)comes"
"But to really give your home that dated-in-two-years look, you'll need to trick it out with touchpanels in every room" Dead on, you guys are great!
Am I missing something obvious? What's the point? Are there that many people out there who are itching to rebuy seasons 1-6 of the Sopranos on a format slightly crisper? And what does this have to do with video games? As gamers we are in the middle of a war over something that I think none of us really need. Somehow Sony and Microsoft have made us desire a technology which will do nothing new for us. What I want is a DVD that never skips, now that is a technology I want and need.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
