Eee PC 1000H gets a $100 price drop {Engadget}

Jul 20th 2008 8:09AM It's probably because of the Acer One which is even cheaper than the MSI Wind. Maybe they're feeling some pressure - or maybe you're right, another net book in the works, this time with I don't know, more ram, more hd space, or something.

I still don't understand why someone would shell out even $550 for this when you can get a laptop with more juice, just a tad bigger and a CD/DVD drive that's albeit 1 or 2 more lbs for the same price OR one that has a screen 1.1 inches smaller for less. Or is this happy medium really worth it?

eMachines bores us to tears, burns our eyes with cheap new desktops {Engadget}

Jul 2nd 2008 10:38AM Hmm. I don't buy them but I have dealt with them. And I've seen at least 3 go bad in JUST over a year. By go bad I mean the mainboard or oboard video knocks out. Not emachines fault I suppose, but suspect nevertheless. The only PC I'd actually recommend a warranty on.

ZAP Alias electric car makes its video debut {Engadget}

Jun 27th 2008 11:59AM With the trend these electric cars are taking - if you want to drive one, you'd better lose some weight very, very soon.

T-Mobile @Home gets friendly with your home phone {Engadget}

Jun 25th 2008 11:57AM It's basically everything you get with your typical cell phone account. The only difference is that the router uses a sim to allow it to make calls over the internet. Works alright with fax machines that are standalone devices but not with softmodem (software fax). It's an awesome replacement for national calling. Unfortunately I call overseas so I'm not sure it would be right for me.

Because ATT does bundles now that often work out better than say, DSL + Basic landline, it may not work out better than that either. But if you're on comcast and do cable this would probably save a bunch of money. That's of course if you can live without a land line. Some people in areas with black/brownouts and frequent natural disasters (tornados, hurricanes, flooding) will probably want to stick with phone service that won't go *poof* along with power.

Great grrat service though. Crystal clear and much better than Lingo or Vonage on a typical 6mb DSL for example.

Microsoft backtracks, will keep MSN Music DRM servers online until 2011 {Engadget}

Jun 19th 2008 10:14AM Hello...it's Engadget, not The NY Times. Misspelling galore along with horrid grammar and abundant mistakes are quite regular here - [if's] a part of the charm here :)

[] = joke.

Verizon pushing FiOS internet to 50Mbps throughout US {Engadget}

Jun 18th 2008 7:49PM I feel this immense pain as well. Though perhaps moreso since I can't even get comcast cable internet in my community here in Pembroke Pines. I'm stuck on ATT DSL - yeeeeeaaachh.
