Did Apple set developers up for failure? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 14th 2008 8:27AM I have an iPhone 3G with 5A345 and have yet to see any crashes other than ones that ate clearly the developer's fault.

However, on my old phone with 5A347, those same apps crashed quite frequently at startup and even reset the phone. I think poking around early on Apple's servers might have been a bad idea.

Lenovo has some funny-ha-ha times at MacBook Air's expense {Engadget}

Apr 30th 2008 9:22AM I'm not a fan of the Air, but as a secondary on-the-road computer, it's compromises actually make sense. I honestly maybe use my optical drive once every 2 months and all my USB stuff (all of which I don't need on me all the time) is connected through a hub.

Also, honestly, that black matte finish and blocky design is ugly. I wouldn't be caught dead with that thing.

You definitely can do that. Just don't drag it from the sidebar in Finder.

Microsoft speaks about virus laden iPods {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 19th 2006 11:20AM @Mikek: I wasn't aware that lower market share made you invulnerable to attacks. I thought the reason was BETTER PROGRAMMING. Get a grip, people. There have been plenty of challenges by people offering prizes for the first Mac virus ever written. Guess what? It didn't happen. Nobody ever wrote the virus. I guess it's just because of that market share....

Also, in the case of this story, Apple isn't solely to blame. Microsoft's faulty programming left the holes for this worm to get in to and lower the security of the system (even further). That's more an issue of quality control than Apple's small amount of iPods with the worms on them.
