Yes, I have the exact same behavior-- all is nice with the MacBook Air until that starts happening :) . You're right, it tends to happen when the room temperature is a bit high, or also if it's on a soft surface.
Is that even e-ink? It's just flashing on and off, not changing. Show me the contents of the magazine scrolling by and I'll be a little more impressed....
Personally I don't love the rounded design theme of the iPhone 3G, MacBook Air, etc. It's kind of blah compared to other recent Apple design, and somehow reminiscent of the old clamshell iBooks. Yet I feel there is more of it to come.
Dear Mr. Granger,

Well, it probably -will- help if the screen is 1" away from your face...
The good thing about Tivo isn't that it has more features, but that it's more pleasant to use and gets the details more right than its competitors. Or that's my experience with Tivo compared to Comcast's DVR.
I think it's a good ruling. Unlike email, since bluetooth is in fact not a public network, you should be able to adjust your own settings to block messages from devices you haven't paired with.
Personally I like the 6086 pretty well (for everyone who complains "why can't I get a phone that's just a phone".. here's one that just makes phone calls in all possible ways). My problem is the UMA just doesn't work that well. When you're on wifi it drops calls relatively often, like using a cellphone 8 years ago or something. Still with no GSM coverage at home and no monthly fee, it's kind of better than nothing.
This fact hasn't gotten much coverage, but there is actually no monthly charge for TMobile's @Home service. The $15/mo gets you unlimited minutes when you're connected to wifi. But for $0/mo you can still connect to wifi and have those calls go against your plan as domestic minutes-- possibly a good deal for people who have no GSM coverage at home, or who want to use a wifi hotspot overseas and have it count as domestic minutes instead of international roaming.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
