This is cool
lol I know the damn thing isn't even available for another month!

I do agree with their console choice though
@Sean

The 360 came out in 05 it's been almost 4 years! Damn I can't believe the console is that old.

@h0mi

I assume you mean the 256 internal flash memory? Yes only the Jasper arcades came with that. The memory was necessary for the NXE update.
Estimated failure rates of early 360's is around 30% (Xenon and Zephyr)

Estimated failure rate of Falcon and Opus boards (65nm CPU and 90nm GPU) are sub 10%

These have been observed through testing no BS surveys like GI's recent one.

If you buy a 360 now you get a full 65 nm board (Jasper). While the estimated failure rates for those boards haven't been reported yet I can only speculate they they would drop to under 5%. The GPU was the issue with the 360 and now it has been been trimmed down. Looking at the impact that slimming down the CPU made I don't think it's that hard to speculate another drop in failure rates with the Jasper board. I have had my Jasper Elite since the beginning of the year and I haven't encountered a single problem the console has never frozen or needed to be restarted.
I was not trying to say they messed up music in general while they probably have had a negative effect on it I was referring more to what the original concept of MTV which was showing as much music to the world as they could.
Haha 1st Gen iPod touch anyone? I'm not a big Apple fan but as long as they don't fuck up music like MTV did they can sell all they want.
So there is an option besides leaning it against my 360? thank god.
Actually I sit corrected the graph is the minimum price of a usual sku in that case the 360 curve is totally fucked up it should start at $300 and go down to $200.
Speaking of price they need to fix that graph. If you're gonna use the $400 price point of the launch 360 premium you should use the $600 price of the original 60 Gb PS3. Granted when the elite came out it was $479 but it was released almost 2 years later and was marketed for enthusiasts, don't really know if that should be a part of the curve though
+1 for all of you. I don't even own a PS3 but I would get the big one before getting the slim. I feel like it is just a marketing gimmick combined with a price drop that Sony uses to push consoles. I think if you put the slim in place where you couldn't fit a 1st gen in a few hours all your going to have is a $300 slim brick.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
