All these add ons that pop up in the middle of your screen telling you "what you are doing" drive me nuts. Deadly Boss Mods is enough for me, these things always prove more distracting to me than helpful. I have several addons, most are raid oriented, DBM, Omen, recount a few are organizational, like the addon that shifts traps/aspects to a nice little toolbar or cartographer, but other than that, I run with the vanilla interface. Less clutter and it's never hindered my DPS.
Going broke and my girlfriend's toon just hit 80. Want to get her into runs with my guild, but she has no headset. This would be the ultimate gift :)
Good points. When I was a new level 80 hunter, I got some very light tips on gear/rotation from a friend of mine, after that I went and researched, obsessively, exactly what I needed in regards to gear, enchants, gems, rotations and then macros to help me avoid aggro/improve my crowd control in certain situations etc.

Now I'm a raid leader and I've found that some people just need a few tips to send them off on self improvement like myself, like "hey, have you ever checked the proper rotation for unholy DPS? or do you ever look up the top geared blood DPS on WoW heroes to see what their specs are?" A few people of different classes have come back with much better DPS after just referring them to Web sites.

A few special cases, I've had to hold their hand, literally. I had to tell one individual what kind of gear hunters wear, why they don't need to stack stamina, then I had to tell them exactly what enchants and gems to get for each piece/slot as referring them to sites did not work. I had to tell them about DBM and recount even, they had never heard of either. Then I had to give them the Surv shot rotation like 4 times over the course of 2 months as they kept doing it wrong. I know because I kept asking, "what's your rotation" always the wrong answer, sigh.

And you know what, they still suck after all that help and time I invested so they don't get invites to serious runs anymore. Some people just can't be helped even though they persist in asking for raid invites. I guess they want the gear without caring/knowing about anything that's happening. Really annoys me considering I did 95% of the research on my class on my own. Point people the right way, if they have a few questions great, they are learning, if you point them and they come back having done nothing, bye bye raid invites.
I'll take one!
Agreed, DK set looks very nice, throwback to their starting armor, but the hunter stuff, good god, I'm definitely turning off the helm when I get that, to bad I can't also turn off shoulders/ boots etc. lol
It's so difficult being a top ranking officer/raid planner/raid leader. First, we have to learn the gaming hard part, that is details of every single fight and how to best explain it and correct mistakes as they happen.

Second, the hardest part, dealing with everyone complaining about why they weren't invited this week, or why their friend isn't there, or "why are we doing this raid, we should be doing that one" etc. Most of the drama really does seem to occur with who is and isn't getting invites. My guild does 10 mans because when we tried doing 25 mans, 11 people would show up and no raid would happen (of course 20 people online when there is no raid, go figure), so we made a policy of rotating different people into the multiple 10 mans we run, so everyone gets to do something. Even though we have informed everyone about it, there are still complaints here and there, every week.

I feel like I should just say to the complainers "ok, you plan out both 10 man runs this week, try and mix the groups, get the proper amount of tanks and healers, then invite people who need the run, mixed with vets who can explain/pick up the slack, then post it up for all to see." What would happen to them? Slew of complaints about who was invited, only so much room in a 10 man run and there is nothing we can do to sneak 12 people in, Blizzard won't let us cheat like that :p

I think we should all implement a new policy, "raid leader of the week" so everyone can see just how difficult it all is to deal with lol.
Honestly, I so rarely use volley anymore that I didn't notice an improvement? I certainly haven't used it once since 3.2.2 patch came out, but maybe I will give it a go during those trash mob AOE party's that happen in certain runs. Kill shot doesn't bother me, I rarely PVP and I'm always far enough away in runs for all my shots to fire properly.
Oh and if anyone finds my old, neon Surf Rags jacket, let me know :p
Am I having a flash back today or are you Engadget? Top post has Lisa Frank wall paper phone, then I scroll down here and see a Kid & Play movie, am I in 1990 again? Guess I better get back to second grade, pick up my Super Soaker, place my Ninja Turtles headband around my head and start my walkman, which has the only cassette I will ever need in it, Please Hammer, don't hurt 'em. ;)

Ah the good ol' days
Wow, that wallpaper looks like the old Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper inserts they used to sell when I was a kid. Snow leopards on the moon FTW!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
