I've had my white chinny Hero for over three months and it's the best phone I've ever had. (Htc X7500, N95, XDAIIi and iPhone 3G included.)
The OS update last month really got stuff moving and I have not had one lag since. Didn't have many before to tell the truth. I highly recommend it. Sod all the social networking stuff it's the AR apps that rule.

Just because of you I'm inspired to spark up my grill this weekend and make some ribs...

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! =P

all I was trying to state was that the use of animals as a commodity to be exploited by humans may well be one day regarded in a similar manner as we now regard slavery. Barbaric and very wrong.
I does not bother me what you eat this weekend so long as it is not me on the grill.
P.S. I rather like America.
Disgraceful behavior from a backward thinking culture obsessed with the industrial uses of animals. In 50 years people will look back and bow their heads in shame at this sort of f’king lunacy.
My x7500 sort of already does this although each seperate piece is still the size of a house.
How dated? It reminds me of the leather case that came with my phone. I mailed it back to HTC just to show my disgust.
What a waist of an animal - future generations are gonna look back at this sort of stuff and be amazed.
've had my Ameo (T-mobile) branded x7500 for just under a year now and it's the best device I've ever owned. Get one, get over to xda-developers and stick any of the 10 or so user made roms on it. This device is great for everything. As for phone calls I have A2DP headset so no problems there. For on-site technicians it's a must and you'll find lots of doctors using them too. Video play back is fantastic on the large screen (As are all the emulators you can get on this eg. Snes, Mame, Final Burn)
I have the 8gb version and use the drive for storage and the 8gb microsd for programs and music files. This helps the battery go much further.
What I would change is the case. It should have been supplied with a wallet style neopreen case with a windowed front, not the very dated filofaxish leather mess.
I cannot finish without saying that I have used an iphone before and they are so different that no comparison should be done. The Advantage was never intended as a consumer phone, it's a work horse that just happens to do a lot more.
Hope this helps.
Oh and get one....sod the price. Mine cost 550usd (bnib.) a year ago off ebay.
Try Android in a few months! Plus AP 4.0 Rom is already released for this.
Best phone I've ever had.....that includes the iphone.
I too am amazed at the fuss this is generating. Although I want an M8 (if it's as good as meizu say it will be) it is not because it is a "cheap" iphone copy or shares lots of design features and input ideas. It's because it looks to be one hell of a win mob phone. I've used an htc for a number of years and its brilliance is that you can do lots with it (3rd party style). It is my navigator, television, rss reader, email, document carrier, guitar tuner, mp3 player, mame machine and phone too.
All this Apple protectionist fury comes across as very sad and will not win any new friends. The fan boy howls may be well grounded in fact and moralistic virtue but there is nothing worse than a hissy fit over something that is not your project in any way shape or form. Hats off to Apple for making a nice phone (and a lot of money) but fan boy types don't stand on chairs screaming at the Meizu mouse running around the kitchen floor. Save your fervor for the real miscarriages of justice in the world and enjoy your 3G-less vanity mirrors. (Joke-I like the iphone!)
No 3G (Edge....Booogaloo!)
Dear Mr Jobs This is not America. We have some of the best 3G phones on earth here for half that price. My money will go on something else. Plus I was on O2 before and they were crap!
I was tempted by the iphone but this is a step backward for me if I get one.
No Thanks.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
