actually the number moving was a separate issue, but yes I believe it was the same batch of suits. Originally the carriers were saying they owned the numbers but rented them to users. Users argued that a number becomes so entrenched in one's life that it just wasn't right to not let them keep it. Especially when some companies were trying to sell the number to the user for high prices. The courts sided with practical over profitable and now we can keep a number and take it where we want.

which was due to them not prorating. but they are still being assine about it. they claim the ETF is because they don't take full payment of the device, opting instead to have the user pay it out over the course of the contract. so the ETF should be prorated as 1/24th of that amount. thus at month 23 you would have something like 14 dollars left, not 120.

also, if there is anyone one or considering Verizon I"m curious about something. ATT gives you 30 days to "try it before you buy it" if you will. if you hate the service or phone you can return the device and cancel service and not have to pay the ETF. just the activation and first months bill. I was told that by law all companies must do this. but I can't recall Verizon ever saying this is the case with them. can anyone confirm or deny

(and I have to agree with those that say the 'you've been banned' and all the chatter back and forth about it is as bad as the trolling.)

as much as I am getting bored with the "I"m a Mac" ads,I will admit that I was pleased to see that they didn't drag out the point that Microsoft has been here before blah blah by actually listing out all the problems. we know what they are, we don't need to hear them again.

I actually think they should do as they do best and copy an idea but do it better. the idea. those cornball commercials with the kids doing real projects. show folks what you can do with a Mac. even if they just did it on the web it would be an improvement. on tv they could give us the Mac version of the iphone/touch apps ads.

I completely agree with you on that one. Whos else makes $1000 netbooks besides apple, hmm... NO ONE!

yeah, noticed. thing is that all battery claims are the same. they are always 'up to' something that requires you to be using settings that are basically everything off.

and the times I've used the new laptops with the built in battery I have gotten better than the old batteries. so i still call it an improvement

uh, did you see the quarterly earnings they announced today. even with the current prices they scored huge. folks were buying. and probably still would even if they raised the prices all $100

not an event. an announcement. this is another reason why anything huge is unlikely. this will be a press release and 'oh look the apple store is now for 3 hours and now it looks all pretty and new' type day.

laptops were just respec'd in June so don't hold your breath on that one.

as for Blu-ray, i doubt it. perhaps as an option on the Mac Pro and maybe the highest imacs, but I can't see them putting it in all the machines as a standard after the Extras on itunes last month. remember that Apple doesn't do cause everyone else did. especially when the sales are only like 12-15% of machines sold at this point (cause who wants to watch a blu-ray on that tiny screen)

what I also can see is perhaps native playback via a revised DVD player/data burning support and maybe a SuperDuper Drive like the one for the MacBook Air only this one is for all machines and is a blu-ray burner.
