I think it has something to do with the fact that engadget is a blog about gadgets and not a tech news blog.
BB, are you an idiot?? Just because there's a picture of an Eee Pc doesn't mean you don't have to read the article and just say stupid things!!!
IT'S NOT AN EEE PC!!!
This is a good example of the U.S. way of thinking. You think the U.S. IS the world. There are more cellphone users in Europe than in the U.S. so it's probably a smarter bet to make cellphones for European users than for U.S. users. Another reason why it's smarter to make cellphones for Europe is because Western European countries have a more stable income than the U.S. so while you're crying about 779$ for a phone, I, as a student can afford to buy one while you as an employed person can't.

Why don't you thank your president for the devaluation of the dollar.
I'm just wondering what the price will be without a plan. Because I live in Belgium and here cross-belt sale is illegal but Apple has made a distribution deal with Mobistar (one of three wireless carriers here) who has stores all over Belgium. My guess is that it will be about 400€ minimum which frankly, is a RIDICULOUS amount for a phone. I might as well go and buy the Touch Diamond :-)
I hope you're not serious about which Korea they mean, or are you??
It's already available for pre-order in Belgium, delivery date set for June 18th!! I've already pre-ordered one!
If anyone is interested in the price, it costs 538€ in Belgium and about 600€ in the UK WITHOUT a plan. So you can guess how much it will be in the US.
A friend of mine says the previous 15" MBPs already had LED
backlight, is this true?
@DorianGray

How stupid and uninformed are you really? I live in Belgium and I pay 25€ a year for my health insurance and so does my dad. When he had heart surgery because of his cholesterol, you know how much he had to pay the hospital? NOTHING, he didn't have to pay one dime. Now how much does it cost to even see your general practitioner I'm wondering!
It's not really faking the sound, you should definitely check out the tech demo. It has something to do bouncing the sound off of different surfaces to get it at the right angle.
I personally find the Loewe Sound Projector much more appealing to the eye. I have personally experienced the demo and I have to say I'm impressed at how far the technology has come the past few years.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
