Big Ten Expansion Back on the Table {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Aug 5th 2007 7:59PM @patke7

Not every member of the Big 10 is a state school. Ever heard of Northwestern? 15% of the Ph.D's awarded on a yearly basis in this country come from the members of the CIC (The Big 10 + The University of Chicago). All of the Big 10 universities are members of the AAU, even the Ivy League can't claim that. These are just a few points you may want to think about before you go spouting off about the Big 10 commitment to academic excellence. Take your envy and ignorance and go bother some other BCS league blog.

Stephen Colbert gets an iPhone, warns of impending iEye release {Engadget}

Jul 20th 2007 4:45PM @Mr. Picklesworth

My Dell Latitude D620, provided by my employer, still gives me the BSOD on a weekly basis.

Engadget & Joystiq live from Microsoft's E3 2007 keynote {Engadget}

Jul 11th 2007 2:02PM I still don't understand why anyone would want to watch a movie through a 360. How loud do you have to turn it up to drown out the noise from the machine?

iLoser retains place in line, crisis averted {Engadget}

Jun 28th 2007 4:46PM Wow, this guy has a problem. It seems like he really wants to be famous, but doesn't have any talents that would bring him fame, instead he just shows up at events that will be covered by the press before everyone else so he can get his two cents in print.

Vodafone selected as Apple's Euro iPhone partner? {Engadget}

Jun 28th 2007 3:22PM It will not be coming to any other carrier in the US for 5 years. It was part of the contract with AT&T. THats one reason why they bent the rules for Apple so much.

Microsoft aware Xbox 360 "sweet spot" is $199, not limited to 20-something demographic {Engadget}

Jun 9th 2007 8:35PM That may be your opinion, but it doesn't make it true. The Wii is just as much a next generation machine as the other two. Nintendo decided to go in a different direction with this generation of machine than Sony and Microsoft. MS and Sony upped the horsepower; Nintendo added a new dimension with a revolutionary control system. If anything, Nintendo made a larger leap than any of their competitors.

Verizon launching FiOS Interactive Media Guide {Engadget}

May 22nd 2007 10:52PM Try DirecTV. Screw Comcast. But yeah, when can I get FIOS TV Verizon? I'm waiting for my AT & T wireless contract to run out so I can get onto the ONE BILL plan (Phone, 3.0 Mb internet, TV and wireless phone for $140.00).

CE-Oh no he didn't! Part XXI : Gates tells consumers to ditch DRMed tunes, buy CDs {Engadget}

Dec 14th 2006 11:14PM Microsoft is far from being the wealthiest company around. Citibank holds that distinction and there are a few energy companies and auto manufacturers not to mention a bunch of other companies that have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more money than Microsoft.

But Bill is right. DRM sucks, and like others have said before, I'm sure Jobs agrees. It is a necessary evil for both MS and Apple, otherwise the idiots at the RIAA and MPAA wouldn't let them sell their merchandise, not that pwoplw won't continue to pirate music and movies, especially when the consumer knows how little the artists make in the revenue schemes. Before anyone yells at me, I am not talking about actors at all. It's the writers that get the shaft.

DVD Jon's DoubleTwist to provide FairPlay for devices, too {Engadget}

Oct 24th 2006 8:51AM Or could it be that the only reason there is DRM on iTunes songs is that is the only way the studios would let Apple sell them and Jobs and Co. really don't care if Fairplay gets hacked as long as the studios don't pull out.

The iPod sells itself. iTunes is just a bonus.

Interview with John Hodgman, the PC from those "Get a Mac" ads {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2006 4:51PM That is a great statistic, too bad it includes all of the businesses that buy PCs over Macs due to the upfront cost of ownership and business software available, not to mention the entrenchment that has taken place over the past 20 years due to legacy software.

Look at the consumer market, more and more people are switching to Macs. Why because they just work and they don't keep you waiting on new releases for months to years at a time.
