you don't

assuming your machine works

backup the entire machine

do a factory install or restore before you send it in.

don't give them anything.

50/50 that in 6 months he has an iMac too.

@Robert - I don't think ND magnets are strong enough to corrupt the data on a drive. They're BUILT IN to hard drives to move the head.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neodymium_magnet

"Used for stabilization and angular head motors in computer hard drives"
but it's a headache for Apple if someone accidentally bought it. yeah, i know, how can you accidentally buy something? I don't know how, but i do know it happens.. there are stupid people everywhere. I'll bet there's at least one poor sod that bought this.. TWICE. Apple is right to take this down. Bet the developer might have second thoughts when Apple comes after him for $700 per copy sold because they have to issue refunds.

Mr Palmer - you seem awfully opposed to a tablet Mac.. but I ask you - What difference does it make provided standard means of input are supported/included as well - touch pad and regular keyboard?

He also read the UK edition audiobooks for all 7 Harry Potter books (very, very well read).
Jason -
have you seen Shure's MPA-3C. It's a headphone extension cable with mic (not sure about song skipping) less than $100, not made by Apple, sold at Apple store. you can use your own headphones and add the mic with this thing.

also - if you happen to have a pair of ER-6i's, check out ultimatebuds.com - they take the buds from the ER6's and mic and cable from the Apple earbuds and put them together to make ER6's with the Apple mic/remote.
@Fraser Drew - good point. does any other carrier offer unlimited data for $20?

@WillGonz - this is a software solution (no soldering involved) if you screw it up, why couldn't you just restore and use your original ATT SIM?

@superberg - which feature besides visual voice mail requires support on the backend?

has anyone tried this hack on a BRAND NEW (unactivated) phone?

bad credit is the result of spending beyond your means... if you have bad credit do you even think you should be looking at a $600 dollar device? if you had a little self control (not buying the latest greatest thing) you wouldn't be in a bad credit situation in the first place. IF YOU PAY $1500 FOR A PHONE BECAUSE OF BAD CREDIT ITS YOUR FAULT... furthermore how does the impact of bad credit make it to an Apple blog. *sigh*
@JON digg for the Jaws quote.. oh, waitaminnit...

farewell and adieu to the fair Spanish ladies,
farewell and sdieu to Ladies of Spain

show me the way to go home...
i'm tired and i want to go to bed
i had a little drink about an hour ago
and it's gone right to my head
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
