This is a bit old news but at least the word is getting out to the main public. Steve Gibson and Leo Laporte talked about this in his Security Now podcast back in September. In fact, it was called Cracking GSM. There are tools readily available for purchase for a few thousand dollars that would get you all setup to record conversations and listen in later. For more dollars, you can listen live. Steve complained that the GSM folks were not taking the warnings seriously but I think now they will.
@Maverlck What? No FM Radio? Deal breaker!
@bigkah624 Every aspect of our *lives* period. Android on the cellphone, Chromium on the PC, Voice on my phone, DNS on my network, storage of my emails, picture of my house on their maps, tracking my online presence via ads, geez. In theory, someone with the right access at Google could track someone a la "Enemy of the State" style.
Finally! I don't want to get on ATT and I hate Verizon from previously bad experience. I was beginning to wonder if Tmobile was ever going to get some love after all the Droid, Pre and iPhone hooplah. Thank you Google! (although I'm starting to get leery of Google's immense reach into every aspect of our online lives).
Me likes. I'd buy when laptops start showing up with usb 3.0.
What use is it if only you have access to this memorial? This only makes sense if you can share it with other people.
This is pretty sad. Only a couple posts about the article and 90% bashing supporters of either parties.
To BHO supporters:
We won. Let's be less sensitive and let the opposition work out their hatred and fear. I felt extremely bitter and disillusioned when Bush won a second term. And I seriously thought he was the anti-christ the way so-called Christians were supporting him. Thank God he didnt start WWIII as I had feared. Well, now, I think the reps feel the same way I felt back then so let's cut them some slack. Screaming racism and name-calling does not add to the conversation and only incites more childish and offensive remarks from both camps.
To non-BHO supporters:
Calm down. Trust in the Lord. You can find comfort in the fact that we still live in a free country and most of your rights are still intact. Nevermind that our former leader tried to take much of your freedom away through the PATRIOT act. Nevermind that he actually created more terrorists than there were before. Btw, IF Bush/Cheney had completely succeeded in expanding the power of the Executive Office, your fear would be completely justified because that would mean BHO could do almost anything he wanted...like Bush/Cheney did for years. So be glad we still have some sort of a democracy in spite of it (like firing State Attorneys because they were not Republicans).
About racism
Most humans are prejudiced. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's somewhat culturally natural. What offends is when there is harm caused because of it. Many Blacks are racist cause many of them believe Whites are racists. You could call it reverse-racism. And many Whites are also racist whether they realize it or not. I'm not saying it's OK, just admitting that it's there. The only solution I see to both of these problems is a new generation. We see it already with many youngsters today. Their grandchildren will be mostly free from the prejudices we have today.

Let's shift the discussion away from fear and ignorance and focus on policies and agenda. By keeping a close eye on BHO and the rest of Washington DC, by being involved, we will keep them in line better than we did in previous years. Maybe we can avoid the stupid mistakes like Iraq and the financial woes we are in today. It is all our faults.
About the topic at hand:
As the govt shifts to a more internet-centric operation, we can expect to continue to see this here just like on most popular social networks. Most tech-savvy users will know not to download codecs from porn sites and browse with more secure browsers like Opera or Firefox. Unfortunately, govt websites also attract less savvy users so the danger is real. Just like sex, practice safe surfing by not being promiscuous, choosing safe sites and by using a secure browser, solid firewall and up-to-date antivirus. :)
Not NokTEQ, NokNAV. :-)
Even a Charger would've been better than a Mustang, but I agree that a Corvette Z06 would've been best. I can certainly understand why use a Mustang. You know these studios want to appeal to the "hip" crowd...young teens and ricers, drifters, pimp my ride fans and idiots who buy wheels that are more expensive than their cars. They also need a cheap car they can bang around. Plus I'll bet Ford is a major sponsor.

One of the greatest things about Knight Rider was that the car did not look like it was so special. It was more subtle. It only got into race mode once in a while when it needed to get someplace fast. Next, we're going to hear Fox remaking Street Hawk...
And an FM tuner. PLEEEEAAAASE! I listen to the radio fairly often, and it's pretty much the only reason I havent ditched my iRiver for an iPod. Such a simple little thing to do....but I guess they dont need to since folks are rushing to buy...oh well. Maybe next gen...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
