Actually the "inside the coat" thing kind of made me think of that guy from sesame street. You know..."Psssst. Wanna buy a Q?" If only that muppet were selling sticky tape...
Wireless sharing of media files? With the MPAA and RIAA around? How long will that last?

"Just what do you think you're doing D.A.V.E.?"

"I'm sorry, D.A.V.E., but I cannot allow that to happen."

Spectrolab is in Southern California. Related to Boeing's sattelite works (used to be part of Hughes, I think). Plenty of sun in Cali. Boeing's not even based in Seattle anymore, dude. They're all about Chicago now.
Interactive rides are not new. The Sally Corporation (www.sallycorp.com) pioneered them ages ago with the dark ride Ghost Hunter and have been creating specialty interactive rides ever since then. Other than not being a dark ride I'm not sure what's novel about this?
Did anyone else just flash to that scene in Akira? Scaaaaaary.
I use a portable speaker dock. Sure it's not the best sound quality, but they're convenient for being able to listen to music without headphones when your on the go. I do freelance dance instruction and it's very convenient to be able to have a backup set of speakers available, as you never know what kind of speaker setup the facility is going to provide. Also, if I want to hear my chillout music in the hot tub without having to worry about my headphones dragging my ipod into the water with me...done.
Firstly, I'm a girl and am on this here series of tubes known as the intranets.
Secondly, while I'd hardly call engadget my "primary news source" - because engadget can harely be called news - I am a frequent reader. We do exist. Really.
Thirdly, is there any chance we can get a pic of that dress in low light conditions? I'd love to see what the RGB LEDs look like in action and what the original creator had in mind in it's construction.
Given that women make somewhat less than men (I haven't heard an updated number in awhile but the last time I checked it was $.77 to the dollar) for the same job, it's not surprising that they own fewer tech-based toys. Particularly given that most gadgets aren't priced in the impulse buy range of the market.
xzavier,
Until my last move in February, I still had all my old transformers. I had even cut out the "Stats" parts of the boxes... Remember, those things that could only be seen when viewed through the red transparancy that came with them? I just couldn't take them with me in the move. How I do miss them.
And does anyone else fondly remember how shocking it was that the old movie got a PG-13 rating becuase the s-word was used? It was a big deal. I wonder how the vocabulary in the new movie will stack up?
Max Headroom called. He wants his society back.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
