"Great job, Microsoft -- you keep hiding features and we'll keep installing Chrome OS on our netbooks, deal? "

What a lame statement. It's equivalent of buying the base model car and complaining it doesn't have a power moonroof and scolding the manufacturer for predatory behavior because they left it available only to higher trim models.
The specs are worse than a netbook. Reminds me of the first Eee PC with 4GB SSD and lame specs. At least this one has a nice screen and form factor!

I think it will fail. Arrington was hoping to hock it to his thousands of readers. That was his initial first-gen market, hoping it would drive it more mainstream as the unit improves. I think it will be very difficult for Fusion Garage to bring this to market as 2010 will be the year of the tablet. I, for one, am waiting to see what comes out. I won't make the mistake of being an early adopter this time.
MEOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WANT!
While I don't think Chrome OS can replace a full OS (I LOVE my Win 7), I think the important thing people are missing is the benefits yielded by this OS. Yes, apples-to-apples, PCs that would come preloaded with Chrome OS having the same specs as Win 7 machines makes absolutely no sense. But imagine a netbook with a super low voltage proc, 1 or 2GB of RAM, lasting 14 hours on battery that weighs 1.5lbs with a 11" screen. Think VAIO X size with the stock size battery getting 14 hours. That would be cool.

I think the thing Google needs to be mindful of here is managing expectations. Speced correctly, this could be just the thing to really hurt sales of Apple's tablet vaporware.

Whoever mentioned the CrunchPad here might be on to something!
Did you say that about the GTR too?
According to Mitsu's website:

Outlander starts at $20,840
Outlander GT is $29,250

IMO not bad with all that for under 30K.

Ok buddy. Sounds like you're comparing a VAIO W to a MacBook.

Well then, where is the $499 MacBook to compare it with??
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
