Or, you could just buy a Mac. No ad problems, no malware problems, no adware problems, no viruses, ever. I bought a new iMac for $1200 about two months ago, to replace an aged PC. I have never looked back. Microsoft has burned its bridge a hundred times over with me by publishing crap software and causing more pain than anyone should bear. (I'm exaggerating, but I still think MS sucks.)
Can't take what you dish out, huh? Not a single thing in my post was inaccurate. It's all quite true, and especially painful for someone who hates Apple so much.
No one is forced to buy an Apple product. I don't understand why you hate one company so much. They make good products, which the vast majority of their users like. Microsoft makes mediocre products, which most of their users tolerate, rather than actually like. Yet, you are not crapping all over Microsoft day in and day out. What gives?
Your comments are irrational and fairly stupid. What does that say about you?
Gee whiz. Engadget has the highest percentage of cry-baby posters of any place on the net. Mind you, not all posters fall into this category, but a lot do.
Don't you find it telling when most non-Mac users crap all over Apple and Mac, and most Mac users constantly exude how happy they are with their Mac. Funny thing is, almost everyone agrees Windows is a serious pain in the ass.
Go figure.
By the way, I'm a fairly recent switcher (1.5 yr) and I'll never go back to the hell of a Windows box or a Linux box. Maybe I would do BSD, but neither KDE nor Gnome excite me very much. In fact, they're not a whole lot better than windows.
With Mac OS X, everything just works, and if I want power access, I can 'su' from the terminal and do anything I want. And hell, Xcode comes free with the operating system. I don't have to run out and purchase the latest copy of Visual Studio for $600+.
I have yet to see the downside. What the hell would I possibly want upgrade before I just purchase a new system? I can upgrade memory. If I need more than 250GB of space on my HOME computer, I can get a Firewire800 drive. By the time I feel the need to upgrade the processor, the latest and greatest Intel processors for Windows machines would need a new motherboard, as well. So, big deal! I have the money, and I want something that will just work.
No digging for drivers. No cleaning of a cryptic registry. No random crashes. No more adware. No more malware. And no more non-stop security threats. And anyone who thinks a Windows machine is worth all that crap is insane.
Again, when the hell do you ever need to copy and paste? An email address? A website? A phone number? Geez, man, the phone recognizes all of those for me. What do I need copy and paste for?
I get the impression a lot of iPhone bashers are just pissed off at having spent nearly the price of an iPhone on a subpar phone just prior to the release of the iPhone. The E70 isn't a bad phone, dude, but it does not compare to the iPhone.
And, I would have agreed with you up until about five days in. You need to have one for a couple of days, but once you're used to it, it is so much better. I know where you're coming from. Telling you is rather empty. It really is one of those things you have to experience for yourself. I needed a new iPod, wanted one with video (since it's related to my work), and the price drop made it an easy decision. Easily, it is the best smart phone I have ever owned. Sure, I'd like a little more. A few interesting games for diversion, instead of just movies, music, and web, would be nice, but I'm sure it'll be along soon, and it's not a high priority for me.
I cannot stress enough how well the keyboard works. I almost feel like it learned my habits to make my typing better. I cannot say the same for the Blackberry or the Treo.

"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
