Mike,

Just thought that I'd let you know that I'd stay away from MCE Technologies and their Optibay,

Check my bottom post at http://www.tuaw.com/2009/04/09/second-generation-blu-ray-ships-for-mac/2#comments
Just a quick note about MCE Technologies: I recently ordered one of their products (an OptiBay). They managed to screw up pretty much everything:

- Shipping to the wrong address (billing address instead of shipping address)
- I paid premium/express shipping, yet, they only sent it with economy (I noticed on FedEx tracking #). I requested to get my money back (8$) twice, but they don't reply on the e-mails.
- Seems like they shipped wrong version of the OptiBay. At least no screws or anything, fits like they're supposed to. Plus, the documentation is totally useless, out-dated and poorly written.

Too bad. OptiBay seemed like a great idea, but the company behind it, just sucks. MCE Technologies - if you read this, feel free to contact me. I guess you can find my e-mail in your inbox somewhere. I'll _never_ buy anything from MCE Technologies again.
I've personally seen iPhones go for up to 10.000DKK here in Denmark, thats around ~1900USD. I've heard about phones going for even more, (2000+$), but thats about a month ago. Right now, they're somewhere around 4.000 and 5.000DKK here (thats 950USD). And yeah, its quite a big deal, they're everywhere and everyone wants one!
I think it's Steve Jobs, hiding..
Such a shame, I'm in Amsterdam the weekend just before the 20th (im going to dancevalley.nl), what about a meetup in Copenhagen?
Dan, the problem with importing filesequences is that if they change, the file gets corrupted and impossible to use without redoing the file. We do that all the time, when new sequences is rendered out (3d animations), replacing old ones. Premiere does the job perfectly. And this is just one example of the many that we experienced with Final Cut, it did have some bright sides aswell, but overall, Premiere wins for doing the job the fastest and the most convenient way.
I work in the movie/commercial industry and have been doing so for more than a year now. We use different kinds of setups, including big Avid systems, Adobe Premiere, and for the past two weeks we have tested a very fast quad G5 PowerMac system with a AJA XENA videocard for Final Cut and Motion. We saw this setup at NAB2006, and it seemed very interesting for us, so we got a system in for testing

Well, I dont use the systems myself, I just do the setups and configurations. But never theless, the system is now returned - we simply couldnt use it because of a number of things. One very small thing, yet very important for us, was the ability to work with filesequences, this was not possible with Final Cut. Yes, there is some workarounds, but they really suck for our pipeline and it makes everything a mess. So for now, no Apple for us, even thou I'd really like a sweet Mac setup at my job. We have so many systems, yet, no Apple system. For now.
Hi, I did this earlier today, on my Rev A MacBook Pro - it had lots of thermalpaste, imaged on http://gallery.kapsel.dk/computerting/macbookpasta/

I replaced the old chunky thermalpaste with some brand new artic silver (I think?) and put everything back together. Now its possbile to actually touch it over the F keys, and use it on your lap. One big problem is thou, that the fans are now spinning ALL the time. I guess this is because the heatpipes are actually getting hot now, unlike before, where the heat was trapped inside it. Any suggestions? The fans havent turned off yet, and my CPU is indeed idle (menumeters).
My MacBook Pro (first revision) runs hot even if my GPU is underclocked.. This is an image of what happend last night, after encoding a few minutes of video.. Think it got way too overheated: http://cool-teens.dk/kapsel/fuckup.jpg
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
