@bjsguess : But then why not just buy the phone yourself, non subsidized, if Verizon (or whatever carrier, really) doesn't lower the cost enough to make it worth the engagement or the early termination fees?

I just can't say I blame Verizon for this. They allow you to get a shiny new phone now for less than if you bought it yourself. That's a strategy to get customers, so it makes sense that they then want to get you to STAY, or their marketing just plain fails!

It feels like people who would spend ridiculous sums on other gadgets just expect phones to be cheap/free for some reason o.O
@Eternity : I think the person who replied before me understood you with "capacitative AND stylus use" but I don't get why you call it wacom tech? My wacom tablet is awesome, I adore it, and I love that my tablet PC is wacom penabled too. However, I would hate to have that on a cell phone--they ONLY work with their pens, you can touch them all you want with another stylus or your fingers, won't do a thing (in fact my arms are laying across mine right now). The usefulness of wacom tech is pressure levels and such, it's good for art. Not so much for quick easy phone interface.
Hey! I was at the "party" where they showed that one off--I recognize the cute mice on the side xD. The screen folds down over the keyboard but when you try to click the buttons, it bounces--doesn't attach securely. Really felt cheap and plasticky.
I'd enjoy winning :)
I voted the library card too -- it's original yet understandable by just about everyone, has nice clean lines, it's always bound to get a laugh or a remark when you show it to someone new... best one in my opinion!
But if you are blind enough for reading to be annoying, why on earth would you buy an ebook instead of an audiobook?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
