This is the same Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone that is in Lips. I contacted a Microsoft PR rep and received the following response:

"We listened to our customers who were looking for more ways to enjoy the superior performance and versatility of the wireless microphone experience they enjoyed with “Lips.” The Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone is a new offering that allows players to sing along to their favorite music games and lets additional singers join the fun with select games including “Lips” and “Lips: Number One Hits,” “Rock Band 2” and “The Beatles: Rock Band,” “Guitar Hero Metallica” and “Disney Sing It: High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”

It most likely will be available next week at GameStop. A posting at the Playstation Blog said the demo UMDs delayed in getting out to GameStop retail stores.

Spartans! Prepare for glory!
An SCEA rep already confirmed this:

"The current 60 GB model utilizes a hardware and solution for backwards compatibility, namely the Emotion Engine chip. The new 80 GB PS3 will use a software solution for backwards compatibility, similar to that currently found in the PAL model," said Kimberly Otzman, SCEA Corporate Communications Representative.

And on the RED SIXAXIS light: "The controller that comes with the 80GB is the same the controller we shipped at launch, in the packaging the PS button is probably lit up,"

SCEA rep confirms that this is the same SIXAIXS with added visual effect (not rumble):

"The controller that comes with the 80GB is the same the controller we shipped at launch, in the packaging the PS button is probably lit up," said an SCEA representative."

"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
