I to still have a 12" PB, along with a 15" MBP and an Air. All serve a distint purpose. The 12" is probably gone now with the new 13" MBP. Deleting FireWire from the MBs simply never made any sense. It was an incredibly odd move that I suspect was met with such push back it resulted in such a quick revision.
How about the entire movie Cannonball Run!!! The whole movie is a chase scene. But clearly Ronin is tops. Special mention for Smokey and the Bandit.
In some respects the iPhone is already free if you consider that the iPhone can be had at the same price as an iPod Touch. The fact that the iPod is embedded with the iPhone makes me believe that the iPhone will never be 100% subsidized by a cell carrier; but I do expect that over time the price differentiation between the iPod touch and the iPhone could be overwhelmingly in favor of the iPhone. This makes the unlocking aspect all the more interesting as Apple cannot afford to lose these iPhones without a contract. I suspect that we will soon see a "rebate on activation" with the iPhone sooner than later.
Apple is going to release as an MVNO. They wont sell the phones unlocked since there would be no way to share in the monthly revenues. Think 2mp camera and .Mac accounts. Think iTunes integration. Think Bluetooth. Think about Family Plans and Disney partnership and a totally whole new way of thinking about your "contract".
I'm with niji, this sounds like a name designed to flush out the mole. Hey tuaw, please expose this goof when he is proven wrong tomorrow. Although I suppose that a ultra wide band usb dongle would certainly be feasable

BUT TUBEPORT.... FORGET IT
To say it doesn't work on a mac is no longer accurate really. It's more correct to state that is doesn't run under OSX. It will run on a Mac under Parallas or Boot Camp.
Figure they are throwing a 500 or 750g drive in there and that is 250-400 right there, plus another 100 for the cablecard support, and standard markup. 8 bills is a lot of money though. I don't buy it. I think 599 is the right number.
Straight from the horses mouth. Apple is introducing the iFrame, 10" photoframe with ichat and isight integrated, built in airport, integration with .Mac accounts for dynamic photosharing. It's sweet.
This was a really cool hack; I happened to have the spare PID and rotary, as well as the resoviour, tubing and fittings from an earlier failed project. I was surprised it only took a half hour! Who knew expresso could taste so good.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
