Mar 4th 2008 8:39AM if apple's lawyers have not started barking, then you should just shut up.

Meizu's M8 a CeBIT no show just like CES -- surprised? {Engadget}

Mar 3rd 2008 9:15AM I am not sure it is a good idea to call many people here stupid:) I am also surprised to see that you believe apple's word so much. I think consumers and manufactures are constantly at war. This is a game between these two parties. Manufactures have to come up with decent products with attractive prices to lure consumers to buy them, but they are by no means charities. They are responsible to their shareholders. I dont think it is so difficult to include many more features into the iphone. If iphone is perfect and have all the features that one desires, who's gonna buy the next generation iphone out next year?

Jan 17th 2008 7:47AM Well, in every country there are manufacurers who produce good stuff and some others that produce terrible ones. What's the surprise? I was born in China and I have seen both sides. I have good experience with some domestic brands and terrile experience with other domestic brands. There are junks made in other countries as well. I used to own a second hand jeep cheroke and it was a total nightmare.
However, the AVERAGE product quality is positively correlated with the economic development level of a country. There's no doubt about it. I've been saying this from the very beginning. As a developing country, China has a lot to catch up in so many areas. If you dont like Chinese product, fine. Just dont buy them.But try to be reasonable and more tolorant and not to be the rich kid laughing at the poor kid.

Jan 16th 2008 11:26PM So how much do you know about products from China? Have you heard about Lenovo? Besides their Thinkpad products which are bought from IBM, they have very good notebooks themselves. Do you know Haier, Chang Hong? They may not be famous here, but they have very solid products, which, by the way, are not cheap rip-offs of foreign products. But to some extent, I agree with you. I hope more and more Chinese manufactures can realise this.

Jan 16th 2008 6:57PM I agree this will not do them long term good and it is a pity that soem of them have not realised this. I guess in the short run, it is pure economics benefit and cost analysis. But I guess u have to be born in developing countries to feel the whole thing. It's like a rich kid seeing poor people dying in the street and ask: why why those people do not eat meat? It's not that expensive.

Jan 16th 2008 6:46PM I do not agree. International trade is good because both sides will benefit from it by producing goods that have comparative advantage in their onw countries. It keeps prices low and quality high. Consumers will benefit from it. Even Greenspan admits in his new book that international trade has been keeping the inflation in the whole world at a very low level for a long time. By using cheaper labor cost and resources China and other developing countries have contributed to keeping prices low for consumers in developed countries. Of course developing coutries also benefit from the process because they learn technology and it also helps to develop a better political system in these countries. As for the problems you mentioned in US, u guys should learn to reinvent yourself. Americans have created one of the best economic systems in the world and I believe it has the capability to improve the status quo. Remember it is Japanese cars that forced the big three to improve their products. When the CEOs at big three are talking about heavy health care costs, why dont people talk about the ridiculous pay packages these CEOs get? Acoording to American style capilatism, people should be responsible for his onw desnity, right?
Finally, when Uncle Sam gets a cold, why he always asks other people to take the medicine?
