That's actually really exciting. We need power to run all the medical nanobots that are going to keep me moving long after mother nature has given me up for dead.

Well, I think the real issue hear is absolute denial on the part of adults that High School Students Are HAVING SEX. I think the gay/lesbian thing is just a flash point for these people (and also their tiresome ignorance that gay=sex instead of gay=person). And, quite frankly, I just don't get it.

Even if you indulge their gay=sex predilection, you'd think a REAL person would see it as an opportunity to talk about safe sex or peddle their abstinence BS.

Tangentially, I just spent several hours writing a post on my blog on the alarming rise in STD's and HIV in "young people" in the past few years. I don't get it.

I think every school should have several clubs about relationships and dating. Gay, straight, bi - no matter, the public schools aren't doing enough to de-mystify dating / relationship / sex to a point where kids can get involved in it without leaving their common sense behind.

Affordable, quality, safe senior housing is incredibly difficult to find in Los Angeles. The Gay and Lesbian Center just opened a gay senior housing project in Hollywood. Sadly, two women that I know who were looking for housing for more than a year, both got into the new complex, even though they're straight and always have been, by lying and claiming they were lesbians - separately claiming, they're not a couple and barely know each other.

Neither are my friends now and I have struggled, weekly, on whether or not I should notify the Center. In the end, I've said nothing, but I'm angry about the whole thing every time I think of it.

We also have this problem in our city and county jails. The special gay and lesbian lock-ups exist to protect the gay inmates from violence in the general population. Last year an informal, anonymous survey revealed that at any one time more than half of the inmates in the segregated facilities lied about be gay because the special unit was the safest place to be while in the hands of law enforcement in greater Los Angeles.

The challenges in keeping gays and lesbians safe in jail or as seniors go beyond making the facilities available. Unfortunately, places like the Center are failing in making sure that the limited number of slots available are being given to actual gays and lesbians.

It's very frustrating. I guess, when it comes right down to it, I'm not totally sure I wouldn't claim I was straight if I was totally desperate.

I can't believe the basis for being an ex-gay is to get a better father figure and violence-out the issues with your domineering mother. Are Fonzie and June Cleaver around to help?

I wonder if they have a pray the AIDS away weekend intensive workshop?

Oh, I forgot to mention about UAFA NOW, don't fool yourself that anything will change in the next decade. The supreme court will be as it is for some number of years. And there's no doubt in my mind that our de-scientification president wakes up every day and rushes to the headlines to see if Ginsberg has been in a fatal car crash to guarantee an even more powerful choke hold.

I agree with Roger and I am an independent. The Democrats have been no friend to me or the gay community. Their talk is just more appealing than the Republicans. What makes me so mad is that the media provides no forums for independent thought or discussion. They're only interested in evaluating how an independent candidate is effecting the chances of the dem or rep.

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
