That's a different issue. I have a Hermes, and know what you are talking about.

Do I want a better graphics driver? Sure I do. But I don't think anyone has the right to complain about the lack of drivers for the Imageon hardware. The complaints about performance in games and the like are simply wrong. HTC never advertised the devices in question as anything but business oriented devices.

If HTC had advertised any media/gaming capabilities in any of the devices in question, than yes they should have made those drivers to begin with. But they just didn't.
I don't think anyone has any right to complain here. Nor does HTC have any obligation to put together any such drivers for those devices. They never advertised the ATI Imageon hardware in their features or specifications list to begin with. Just because the hardware is there doesn't imply that it's being used in the device.
About time. Middle east media has been reporting this all day long, though none of the channels seemed to know who AMD was.
Drop in a 700-800MHz dual core processor with some 2MBs of cache instead of going to 1.2-1.3GHz single core processors.

Another cool feature would be to have dual media storage, where the OS and installed application reside on flash memory to make boot, suspend/resume, and hibernate times fast, and your run of the mill slow 1.8" HDD for user data. This way, the device would only need 4-8GB of flash memory which wouldn't add that much to cost as opposed to going 100% SSD.
Not sure which city this was filmed in, but its somewhere in the north, most probably in the kurdish provinces (check the sign at 2:22) where the security situation is quite good.

As for those commenting about IEDs, well IEDs aren't put in such crowded streets simply because there are too many people going through such streets and both the IEDs and the people planting them would be caught on the spot.
Is it just me, or does this look like a glorified resurrection of the 10-year old Logitech Cyberman 2 joystick???
While its more expensive, one could use a gumstix, an older iPAQ flashed with Linux, or even a wrt access point flashed with openwrt or something similar. Then compile/install the ARM version of nut.

I'm not sure you'll find nut there, but Debian maintains an ARM repository of each of its releases. If its there, one could unpack the .deb package and install nut manually.

A small linux box that consumes very little power is far more efficient than using an entire PC only to send a simple trigger.
jpeg has become the standard image compression method used on the net, and by definition, its a lossy compression method. Forget about resizing. Just compress the image to "normal" jpeg settings, and that noise info will be lost rendering the image virtually untracable. In fact, that info is already lost when you download those images from your camera, as it would have already compressed the images before saving them on the flash memory loosing all that noise information.

This method may work on raw/uncompressed images, but how many people will post huge, multi megabyte raw images online???

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
