I'd like to point something out to those people saying, "well, what's the point - there aren't any worthwhile apps for the jailbroken iPhone anyways."
The reason that there aren't any really clever or useful apps for it is precisely BECAUSE Apple isn't allowing people to develop for the platform officially! As a developer, I'd love to create apps for the iPhone - it's a really sexy device, with a lot of potential - but with the number of restrictions and ridiculous crap that I would currently have to go through (and will likely continue to have to go through, based on news like this), why waste my time?
Apple's made it clear they don't want us developers making useful apps for their platform. We get the message... and so we're not bothering.
@squirgle - actually, you wouldn't be a thief. Moby Dick is in the public domain, so it would be completely within your legal rights to reprint it in a different font (or even the same font).
Are there any stand-alone hand-crank power units like that available? Now that would be nice for when you're on a camping trip, or away from wired power for a few days, with a laptop.
Or, better yet, as an add-on to a camping backpack rig, so that when I'm out hiking my laptop could be recharging... and then I could use it in the evening, while sitting around the campfire... and then have it recharge fully during the next day's hike. Now that would be a good piece of survival equipment. :-)
Now, if they had one of these sized for my EeePC, that would be rather handy. Perhaps in the form of a backpack or messenger bag, rather than a briefcase? That way, when I'm walking around outside, either to and from work or between classes, my little compy could be recharging (or, at least building up some extra juice in the in-bag battery).
Simply being female is sexist. Or looking at or referring to females. Or talking about any female. Or males, since that's almost "female". You sexists.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"

...and that would also explain why Steve Jobs gave him an extra $50. :-)
