I don't think it's a netbook. I do think it's an e-reader/tablet, sort of like what Andy Ihnatko is always going on about. If it can run iPhone apps and will be about the same price as a Kindle it could be very successful.
Perhaps we could start sending empty boxes to Fox, NBC et al in protest. Maybe if we fill their boardroom with refrigerator boxes they might get the hint.
That seems to be the only way to get the content we want the way we want it. I was more than happy to watch Hulu, with the ads, on my AppleTV.

I feel like I'm standing in a store, holding money at a cashier, asking to take a product home with me, and they're saying "Nope, we won't sell it to you this way. If you want to leave with it today you have to shoplift."
It's not my own Matrix Moment, but by dad works for a federal loan guarantor, and was at a conference where a speaker was talking about how people shouldn't invest in federal bonds. My dad remembered reading something about how Warren Buffet said federal bonds are a good thing to be investing in, so he did a Google search, found the article and asked a question.

After the talk, the speaker read the article on my dad's iPhone.
I don't think it's misinformed or emotional to judge a company on their retail experience. I've not had one good experience with Circuit City, and look where they are. Having a good experience in the stores leads to higher sales, which leads to better profits. Plus, if a company can make a good retail experience in hundreds of stores, they've obviously got the management chops to succeed, or at least a large pool of good managers to draw from.
What if we have an Intel Mac and not an INTEL MAC? I've never heard that acronym before and I'm wondering if I should be worried.
My wife was skeptical about how much we'd use the AppleTV my dad got us for Christmas. Until I installed Boxee and showed her that every episode of the Twilight Zone is available for free.

Now the only thing that's keeping us from dropping our satellite TV service is the fact that we can't find a way to get kids shows on Hulu.
One reason I use TaDa List (the web app) to manage my shopping lists is my ability to create it on my Mac (or Windows machine at work) and have it with me on my iPhone.

What I'd really like to see is a web app that syncs with the cloud so that I can have my shopping list with me when I lose connectivity, which sometimes happens in my grocery store.
I've been thinking about going freelance, and a system like this would be a great way for me to categorize expenses.
Now all we need is SimTower.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
