So why are iphone's not used by the government? Oh that's right because the security is so weak and can be jailbroken easily. When activated on a BES and a password set on the device it is not crackable, 10 wrong attempts at the password will force the device to wipe. Not even RIM engineers can crack it because it's that secure.

Yes it is slightly bigger then the iphone, but dont judge something until you have had one in your hand and used it. And before you say yes I have used both.
I think this is definitely gonna be a big seller, considering how patchy the Bold was when it was released I think they have done a good job with this, and now it's officially launched I dont have to worry about the NDA I signed at work ;-)

The device we had was a prototype and was slightly different to the production model in terms of the tactile feedback they talk about with the device, yes it's touchscreen but it's not like other touchscreens, the screen sits above a pressure switch that will click when pressed like a key (the prototype model felt like it clicked twice but production model won't), the benefit is that you can touch the screen to highlight something without actually opening it then press on the screen a little harder to open, I found that it was pretty unique and something i have not seen on a touchscreen before (finally, something unique compared the the iphone!), this was a big thing for me as I find it annoying for Windows Mobile devices that you cannot tap an email just to select it (you will open it)

Screen wise it's a pretty damn good quality screen, the media playback is flawless and the quality is amazing, add to this that the 3.2mp camera has a flash (albeit LED based) and auto-focus it certainly has better photo capability then the fixed 2mp camera the iphone uses.

Time will obviously tell to see how well it performs in the real market, testing can only really test the device to a certain extent, you then release it to the world and see how joe bloggs and hacker respond to it.
This new menu system feature is part of the Windows Mobile 7 operating system, and although it does help accessing programs, it does create some issues whereby when an application is uninstalled, the menu item which shows the most recent programs ran doesn't remove the link from the menu so can cause confusion with the less tech savvy users.

Also, for those who do decide to get this device, turn off the predition text settings, it really slows the device down when creating emails of text messages... You really dont need predictive text on a qwerty keyboard device Palm!!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
