I wish I had the time and pieces to makes stuff. all my stuff is in a couple rubbermaid containers in storage.. haven't been opened since the early 90's lol
Its much more usable in daylight now with a brighter screen but still sucks at times (mostly the gloss)
no media center did not work on 7 beta. but then again, the notebook wasnt mine. it was someone else's which i was working on so I kinda played around with it since I had it in my position for a week.
I like it. works better with windows 7 beta even though you omit all the cool hp software and functions when you install a different OS. Things I would like to change 1. swap to low voltage intel based processor for better power consumption. 2. make touch screen more sensitive. 3. redesign the power cord connector to the notebook. I broke one already. 4 Matte screen 5. make screen swivel in both directions. 6 Make the screen a wee bit bigger within the same casing. 8. include HDMI out

Thats all :)
I highly doubt they will put a express 54 in the computer. even the old mini was pretty jam packed plus one reason why i have my doubts is because when the 1000 came out, it also stated it had an express slot which it didn't. Also a 54 is pretty big and even the HP DV2 doesn't have a 54, just a 32. I would like to see the following options though: 1. option for higher res screen like the 2140. 2. smart protect hard drive (anti shock feature like in the DV series and 2140) 3. Want HP to hurry up and come out with the darn display dongle and anything else that can plug in the port. 4. 6 cell battery.

Oh and though HP advertises max 1gb memory, many have upgraded to 2gb on the old 1000. I'm sure it will be the same on on the 1100. HP just won't offer it on their site so they can try to sell more of the business line.
This looks awfully familiar to the speculated supra or what was to be 3 years ago around the time they announced the LF-A for lexus. either way, whatever it ends up looking like, i still want to test drive one regardless of how bad people say it looks.
I think it looks like a bad combination of HP and Sony. Sony was i believe the first to give it a leather type texture on their laptops and before apple, HP did their brightview infinity screen setup which is technically their version of edge to edge high gloss glass screen. Anyway, when i look at gateway now I think of Sony and HP. I think the past few design changes on a gateway, HP and or Sony did the same thing a generation before..
I've been a user of eneloop for almost 2 years now. had them in my wii for about 7 months. One thing I don't like about eneloop is when the power goes, it goes quickly. What I mean is with regular batteries, the power will gradually go down and you see the wiimote blink the number of charge the battery has left. With the eneloop, once you see the 4 blinking lights go down to 3, after one session of game play (an hour or two) will make the light go down to 1. Other than that, eneloop lasts long, keep its charge even when not in use for longer and i love it.
Hewlett Packard Voodoo - HPV (Human Papillomavirus) lol

I think the name Compaq should disappear and have it be HP/Voodoo. Compaq is the budget line PC's but HP has pretty cheap computers too so i think that should merge. Keep HP as the Multimedia based computer and transition the blackbird to Vooodoo line and call it Voodoo Blackbird..sound so much cooler that way. The Blackbird comes with the voodoo keyboard and mouse already anyway. .
I have an ipod but I actually like the zune with the new software interface.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
