Americans clap at everything. Just watch any holliwood movie.
Yeah, what the hell? Sony and affordable in a same sentence? Good laptop actually, does the BR drive only play, not write discs?
Funny when you read all these comments... bunch of spoiled brats we all are, having a cry wank over a terrific camera.

Lets get this straight: it does almost everything a DSLR does, yet its the same size as a compact? Check! It shoots video with APERTURE control! Check. It has built in stabilization? Check! It's the only camera company which had the balls to release a DSLR-supplementary COMPACT!? Check!

So to all of you people saying "it lacks this or that", a big middle finger salute; I'm off to get one to compliment my Nikon DSLR.
Nice shirt, guy!
From the link:

120x70x35mm 300g
13M RAW JPEG RAW+JPEG SD, (yay no xD cards)
1280x720 7min (720p video?)
640x480 14minSD
11 AF (points?)
ISO 6400—200
Shutter speed: 60-1/4000

Sorry, the link is in Japanese so someone might be able to double check the data. Specs looking good, I hope the screen is high resolution like the latest Nikon/Canons and AF speed and startup is dSLR like.
Oh yeah, and great idea with the add-on viewfinder. Beats shitty tourist look with "arms holding camera away from face", and EVF which just blow.
Pro monitor for the pro market. Pro price...

P.S. Not everything is supposed to be a 'game-changer'...
Half the price, and it will be *almost* affordable for the same capacity.
The Rock is Samoan. Just sayin'...
"...blur the line between consumer and professional machines."

What constitutes a "professional" machine? That it's made out of aluminum? Or you are referring to a higher price with same specs to other cheaper PCs?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
