That keyboard is such a huge waste of space. Who is going to type on that thing? They need to concentrate on being a good book reader, not on doing 10 things. I don't want it to listen to podcasts (have an iphone for that), don't want it for browsing the web (have an iphone for that and computers everywhere).

Drop the extra junk, get a bigger screen and cut the price in half... and maybe.
Jerry will now go back to microsoft and a conversation will go like this:
Jerry: "We could probably go for the $33."
Ballmer: "Oh, well... $33 is off the table, the offer is now $26."
Jerry: "Doh! How about $30"
Ballmer: "Sorry, but I've got a lunch appointment. Maybe we could talk later."
Jerry: "Alright! Alright! $26 it is."
Ballmer: "... oh, and drop off this dry cleaning for me."
Jerry: "Yessir."
Note that while not gray, in the sony picture of the box, it does show the PS3 with some artwork on the actual machine. So... it may be semi-special in the pkg... but like those here, I want the gunmetal color.
Who wouldn't want to ride on a virgin?! All hail Engadget.
I agree with some of your points, but I think you should first read the book PeopleWare. Working a caffeinated sweatshop doesn't sound like a very productive environment to me.
richard k... You can't be serious? You definitely aren't talking from experience. I am far from an audio/videophile and the difference between upscaled dvd and HD is profound. HD is jaw dropping, upscaled dvd is crisp and nice, but there is no comparison. You need to get your eyes and ears checked.
Zucker is about 5'6". Napoleon complex?
Getting a piece of the hardware revenue is pretty ridiculous. They totally missed the boat on the digital revolution, and yet they expect a piece of the hardware? Get real. Which came first, the mp3 or the iTunes music store...

Zucker may know a bit about traditional TV, but seems a bit lost on how to help universal survive in the digital age.
Ok, I just watched it. Overall I think it was nicely done. It is just the right level for my somewhat computer savvy family to see what new features there are, and how they might want to use them. Having this basic intro gives people a look at what is new, so they can decide what to go investigate further.

While there may be fanboys about, you are what is called a troll.
I've installed it numerous times, and it doesn't take 2 hours to do an install. Maybe 30 minutes, and that would include the dev tools.

It might take 2 hours if you are doing a migrate from another machine (where it copies all your files, documents, images, music and applications from your old machine).

I haven't done an upgrade however, but I don't know why that would take so much longer. 2 hours seems excessive... no idea how they came up with that number.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
