@ the apple store in woodcliff lake in NJ. first apple's handheld POS units crashed during my credit activation for about an hour. finally got through that and now am waiting another hour for the activation from itunes. apple did not prepare at all for this. damn flamers.

still no activated iphone and now my other phone doesn't work. i'm phoneless until apple can get their act together... apple blows.
my connection as well is still throttled as it ALWAYS has been. can never get more than 40k upload for a sustained period of time = slow bittorrent = crappy service.

comcast really sucks. at least they make funny commercials.

...sorry roger, you tiger now!
I have Comcast in NJ(Bergen County) and they definitely cap the upload. I connect to my computer from work through a secure SSH tunnel (so they won't know what I'm transferring) and regardless of what kind of file I transfer, it starts off at a nice 180kb/s... then slowly throttles down until I get a steady 40kb/s. Happens every time.

Comcast blows. I needed Fios like yesterday.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
