Then what is that ugly aluminimum part with a weird black icon doing underneath that display? So it is "Display, then a fu-bar, then no display".
Where did the 17 inch 1920x1200 screens go? Thats a gazillion less pixels! And there are countries outside the USA that do watch foreign movies with subtitles. How nice, the titles return to cover Tea Leoni's nipples! I just got used to have them underneath in the black space.
Yes, its a very stylish home cinema remote!!
Wow, finally the ultimate touch screen remote for our home cinema components with widescreen preview.... wait... did anybody say telephone? Bummer. Thought it was kind off expensive for a remote.
Go search for ExSpeed MAME. I run MAME on my D700 perfectly. Pac-Man, Galaga, MK, SF II, Simpsons, 1944, Donkey Kong, Q-bert all run great while waiting for the make-up at a wedding. Another plus for Nikons joystick button instead of a Canon wheel and too few buttons! 5DmkII-MAME only plays Arkanoid and Tempest!
Nothing in the 17-40 gap from Nikon?
Well go fetch a 28mm 2.8 AiS on the double! This is the sharpest corner to corner wide-angle with close to no distortion, no flare, no vignetting, 20cm close focussing and it is the best normal wide angle ever made by Nikon AND Canon since they started making 35mm cameras! 17-24mm is too wide anyway if there is a person in the picture (egg and melonheads). Its no AF, but who cares? Who minds AF on wide-angles anyway?
Awesome. Finally a big 4:3 screen again. At least it looks 4:3. 1080p means it is 1440x1080? Fabulous!
It works in Tiger Calculator as well like that.
Maybe Americans who only watch Holywood-pulp can do with 16:9, but if you wan't to see foreign movies, it's actually kind of neat to have the subtitles in the black bar below the 16:9 image. That's where 16:10 comes in handy!
Do you remember who had the first 16:10 screen? It was the original 23 icnh Apple Cinema Display, designed to make Full-HD video editing possible with some room for control bars. So for computers, that are used to edit widescreen content, 16:10 is still welcome. For TV's, 16:9 is perfect. So I was thinking about using this NEC as TV. But hey, where's the S-videoport? Local HD broadcast is not available yet in the Netherlands, and the cable tuner only has S-video out. It would be cool to be able to hook this unit up.
And the silver is piss. They should have made it all-matte-white, so it would fit into the wall stucco.
Please, bring us 24-27 inch REAL 4:3 LCD screens with H-IPS technology, 1600x1200 or 2048x1536 resolutions and low input lag. Have to feed that arcade machines with something decent.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
